95 95 CRITICISM OF 1ST SHOW. KEITH'S, PHILADELPHIA. DEC. 8TH Pelot - 3 shows - 10 mins. - Wood in 4 - Comedy juggler; good "small" act; throwing of apples always gets a good laugh. Pauline Saxon - 3 shows - 12 mins. in one - "Sis Perkins Girl"; makes two changes and winds up in a scare-crow dance; no harm in its place. Inman & Staats - 3 shows - 16 mins. - garden in 2 - Irish comedians; two men; a disjointed talking and singing act, some parts of which are very good; whole act fair. Had to cut out talking to boxes. Rosseau Bros. - 3 shows - 8 mins. - Garden in 3 - Acrobats; man and boy; dress very neatly, and do a good "small" acrobatics act. Orth & Fern - 3 shows - 14 mins. in 2 Comedy and parody singing; two men, one working straight, doing a number of stunts on the piano, a la Burt Howard. Act is good. Nice Twins - 3 shows - 12 mins. in one - Boy and girl in singing and dancing act; neatly dressed singing act; xxx good xx x xxxxx "small" act.Baker & Lynn - 2 shows - 20 mins. - Fancy in 3 - "The Electric Boy"; man and woman in what seemed to please the audience; personally I do not like it. The audience does, and that settles the dispute. Louis Granat - 3 shows - 10 mins. in one - Whistling solos; good anywhere on any bill. Stinson & Merton - 2 shows - Fancy in 3 - A bunch of nonsense that is full of laughs; one of the hits of the show; closed 8 mins. in one to set the Salambos. Salambos - 2 shows - 20 mins. - Fancy in 2 - Man and woman in electrical experiments. We featured the act because it was a novelty. For its foundation it has a wireless telegraphy stunt that appears to be genuine, but is produced by a clever deception. Act went only fair this afternoon, but with sufficient advertising could be made a feature, and might make good as such. Harry Brown - 3 shows - 13 mins. in one - Coon songs; orchestra gave him a hard deal on music, but he managed to make good; in a class with Ernest Hogan. Lewis McCord & Co. - 2 shows - bare stage - in "Her Last Rehearsal;" the hit of the show; went very strong. Scott & Wilson - 2 shows - 11 mins. in one - Comedy acrobats; two men; act went on about 4 o'clock and the audience was rather uneasy, but they managed to hold them, however. xxx Gillett's Dogs - 2 shows - 16 mins. - Garden in 5 - Best dog act in the business; placed just about right on the bill to hold the people, who tire after 4 o'clock and dare you to hold them. Lew Sully - 2 shows - 14 mins. in one - Working white face monologue; excellent act; placed just right. Six Glincerettis - 2 shows - 12 mins. - Garden in 3 - European act off the boat Saturday; men were a little stiff; played in Philadelphia six years ago; very strong act when the men become limbered and get working together. Whole show is very strong; about the best we have had. H. A. DANIELS
