111 111 CRITICISM OF 1ST SHOW KEITH'S, PHILA., 12/15. La Page & Florence - 3 shows - 12. mins. - Gar. in 4 - Jumping specialties; man and woman working straight pantomime stunt act; good act of its kind. The Laskys - 3 shows - 12 mins. - gar. in 2 - Military musicians; man and woman working in costume; good "small" musical act. Corbley & Burke - 3 shows - 15 mins. - St. in one - Irish comedians; singing dancing and cross-fire talking act; didn't go very strong here to-day. Mr. & Mrs. Darrows - 3 shows - 11 mins. - C. D:- Smoke and hand pictures and hand-shadowgraphs; excellent act of its kind; went well. Gorman & Lawson - 2 shows - 15 mins. - Wood in 4 - Man and woman in singing and dancing sketch; good act to kill time with; not very strong. La Nole Bros. - 3 shows - Gar. in 3 - 12 mins. - Eccentric acrobatic act; two men , one clown and one working straight in an aerial circling ladder act; it is a strong act of its kind; sensational wind-up gets a big hand. Susie Fisher - 3 shows - 10 mins. in one - Female baritone; expect3ed to be closed so she decided that her voice was a bit off and closed of her own accord. Fadette Woman's Orchestra - 2 shows - 25 mins. Full Stage - Received a reception and will go strong all week and for some time to come. Tom Almond - 3 shows - 10 mins. in one - Australian long-shoe dancer; fair act. Murphy & Nichols - 2 shows - 20 mins. - Fancy in 3 - "The Bifurcated Girl"; man and woman in the same old sketch. However, it is excellent and gets many laughs. C. E. Billings - 3 shows - 14 mins. in one - Yankee dialogue. This act was a frost her to-day. In his position on the bill he could do nothing, and I doubt if he could "make good" in any position with the two-a-day acts. Had to cut his work in half for the night show. Holloway Trio - 2 shows - 12 mins. - Garden in 4 - One of the best wire acts in the country; three boys, Charley Holloway making up as a girl and doing it so cleverly that the deception is not at all noticeable; one of the hits of the show. Leona Thurber & Picks. - 2 shows - 15 mins. - Drapery in one - Woman and two coons singing Dutch songs; a fair act and a "small" act; shoved them up the bill. Guyer & Daly - 2 shows - 15 mins. - C. D. - Man and woman billed as an eccentric acrobatic and comedy dancing act; received seven curtain calls this afternoon; and nothing we have ever had here has aroused as much enthusiasm. Their whirl-wind wind-up did the trick. John Kernell - 2 shows - 15 mins. in one - the Irish wit; always original; had a lot of new stuff this afternoon and received hundreds of laughs throughout his monologue. Cushman, Holcomb & Curtis - 2 shows - 25 mins. - Kitchen in 3; close in one - Two men and a woman in a school-room act, a la Al. Leech, but for novelty or cleverness it can't touch Leach's act at any stage of the game. Morris' Ponies - 2 shows - 25 mins. - Garden in 3 - A good animal act; only one we had that would do to close with; will especially please the ladies and children. H. A. DANIELS.
