278 CRITICISM OF SHOW KEITH'S THEATRE, PHILA., PA. JUNE 15TH Ed. Estus - 10 min. - Gar. in 3 - Equilibrist; accomplishes some good stunts; wll break his neck some day; good "small" act. Morris & Blain - 15 mins. in one - Two men, blackface comedians, song and dance; regulation work; poor singers; fair dancers. Act only fair. Comedy is "rotten." Gorman & West - 15 mins. - C. D. F. in 3 - Man and woman, in a comedy sketch. A good one. Singing, good; comedy, very good. A very good act. Will go down on the bill. Sanderson - 12 mins. - C. D. F. in 2 - Trick pianist; very good one. Comedy is not so much, but his work is excellent. Ferguson & Watson - 12 mins. in one - Two men, comedians, dressed as soldiers, in side all conversation. They are good. Their "patter" elicited almost continuous laughter. De Onzo Bros. - 12 mins. - Gar. in 4 - Barrel jumpers; full of action and life; nest act of its kind we play; an excellent act. The Harpers - 12 mins. in one - Man and woman, regulation singing and dancing in one; full of ginger. A very good coon act. Chas. Dickson & Co. - 30 mins. - 2 D. Plain - Marian Chapman was not in the company. The sketch was somewhat of a disappointment. There are some good laughs in it, but Dickson has had better vehicles for his unquestionable talent. It is not an exceptionally strong offering by any means, but is simply an ordinarily good act. Carolyn B. Young - 8 mins. in one - Whistling solos; good; received a good hand. Techow's Cats - 17 mins. - Gar. in 4 - Always please the ladies and children; arouse intense interest, and command attention throughout. Musical Dale - 15 mins. in one - acknowledged to be the best in his line in the business; more than made good; has no equal on the concertina. Jules & Ella Garrison - 23 min. - C.D.F. in 3 - Palace in 5 - Man and woman, in a travesty act; imitators of Hess & Fenton; elicited many laughs and received a good hand. A good act. Haines & Vidoca - 18 mins. - 3 D. Plain in one - Second time here; the rapid fire talkers of vaudeville; always go big. Very, very good. Six Glincerettis - 10 mins. - Gar. in 4 - Acrobats; a good acrobatic act. Many if their tricks are good, and were liberally applauded. Vitagraph - 20 mins. - Sheet in one - Pretty good selection of views. Comment: - The show is excellent throughout. There is but one weal spot - Morris & Blain - and we'll bury that. If cool or cloudy weather holds out, we will do an enormous business with the bill this week. P.S.: - Thorton filled in Friday and Saturday last week, and did just as well as did Nat Wills, who quit on a few hours notice. Wills (in the estimation of everyone here) was not sick, but simply quit, with that as an excuse. H. A. DANIELS
