303 Boston Show, Week of July 27, 1903. THE DELASKAS A new method of introducing old magic. The scene is a bake shop, two attendants a man and woman dressed in bakers garb. The man got away with his stuff very well but the woman considerably handicapped the act owing to her unsightly appearance. All right as openers. TOUREY AND LACEY Open well with an automobile followed by conversation which is only fair. Their close may be counted the best part of the act which is bag pipes and dancing. This latter is very good and sent them off with a very good hand. OWLEY AND RANDALL These people got the audience right off Didn't seem to do anything new but what they did was very well. The woman makes a nice offset. One of the best 3-show acts we have had and could be in a much better place on the bill. AL COLEMAN This fellow is rather good with stories, but his personality is a bit against him. Whatever it is he did not seem to reach the audience this afternoon, while not bad, could be rated as just passable. FADETTES No diminution in popularity. DILLON BROTHERS Went very big and had an excellent line of parodies. Just the sort of an act to follow the Fadettes. THREE WESTONS The girls of this act went surprisingly well considering their nearness to the Fadettes. They are extremely refined and of pleasing personality. Won out immediately with our audience and they were obliged to respond to encored. The old gentleman went remarkably well and the turn o the whole to me was a pleasant surprise. One of the nicest, quietest and refined acts that I have ever seen. JOE AND NELLIE DONER Went very well although I don't think it hit our audience as strongly as it would others. I think I shall put them up a little higher on the bill. IRVING JONES This gentleman has evidently taken the palm away from Ernest Hogan and made a big hit this afternoon. CUSHMAN, HOLCOMBE AND CURTIS With the school room sketch which is always big, held up just as strong as ever. WM [WILLIAM] CAHiLL In an extremely difficult place did not go very well. There is no doubt but what he is a good performer but it will be impossible for me to change his position in this week's bill.
