Grand Opera House, Pittsburgh, PA. John P. Harris. Sept. 9th, 1012 Juno Salmo. Contortionist. 16 minutes. Full stage. This act does very well to open the show. I would not care to recommend it for any later spot on the bill. Smythe & Hartman. With Songs and Patter. 16 minutes. OLIO in one. the opening of this act is exceptionally slow but improves, and I would onsider that it is alright for No. 2. Francis Yates. 16 minutes. Female impersonations. Special velvet drops. Full stage. The material Mr. Yates is using is far from being good. His female voice I consider very good and his change to evening clothes, finishing with an Irish song, is done very well, but the act is not a hit and I would not feel like recommending it with his present material. Patsy Doyle. 11 minutes. Street. Monologue. Doing very well for us. Homer Lind & Co. 22 minutes. In "The Opera Singer." Full stage. Interior. Mr. Lind is doing very well for us. His act is a little different from the usual run of sketches and he is a big hit with his singing numbers. Ethel Green. 14 minutes. Olio in one. Songs and caricature. I consider Miss Green one of the best single acts in the business. Joe Jackson. 11 minutes. Full stage. Garden. Panto-mimist. A very funny act. Going big at every performance. Primrose Four. 14 minutes. Olio. A very good quartette, doing exceptionally well in a very hard position on the bill, next to closing. Richardino Troupe. 11 Minutes. Full Stage. Garden. Equil-ibrists. This is a very good act. A little bit slow for closing a show, but the work of these people is as good as any I have seen in their line.
