Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of October 28, 1912. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. The show played off very well indeed; the large audience present seeming eminently satisfied; only one act in the bill was disappointing. EDGAR BERGER Equilibrist, who has one or two tricks that are unusual and applause compelling; as a whole, may be classed as fairly good. 7 Min. in Two. BARNES & BARRON Two men, one tall and thin, the other short and fat, whose appearances are ludicrous, but do not get their material over in very good shape; I figured on them for 17 Min.; they say their act runs 14 - they did 10 - the audience would have been satisfied with half of that. Am sorry that I can't recommend the act. In One. McDEVITT, KELLY & LUCY The show practically commenced at this point; these people created the same favorable impression that they have been credited with in other cities, finishing with quite a lot of applause. 21 Min. Open F. S. Close in about 4 Min. in One. 5 MELODY MAIDS & WILL J. WARD Ward is a local boy, who makes his first appearance in a prominent theatre with this engagement. He has shown more draught than any local performer that we ever had; practically the entire lower floor is sold for tonight to organizations, coming especially to see him. The sale for the entire week is large and it is indicated by the talk that he is responsible for the greater part of it. Aside from this, the act is very good. Of course, he made a hit here, but I think they would go well anywhere. 24 Min. F. S. ANDREW KELLY Mr. Kelly came, saw, conquered. He tells Irish stories and his appearance, manner and voice suggest very strongly, Frank Fogarty. He lacks something of Fogarty's assurance, but when he has been at the game as long as Fogarty has, he will equal him in all ways. Considering the difference in his salary, Kelly is the better buy of the two. He went very strongly indeed and can hold the position second to last with perfect satisfaction. 15 Min. in One. JESSIE BUSLEY & CO. In the sketch, which is now well-known, called "Miss 318." It is a very good sketch and Miss Busley is good, but it is too bad the support is so poor; the sketch got over all right, but with about $10 a piece more paid for each of the actors, it would be worth a great deal more to us and unquestionably draw more money. 25 Min. F. S. Gertie VANDERBILT & George MOORE This act well known in other cities, appeared here for the first time and scored very strongly indeed. It is a splendid act. 15 Min. in One. THE 3 MORI BROS. Japanese wire walkers and risley performers. Made a very good closing to a splendid show. 13 Min. F.S. MOTION PICTURES Base Ball Series, - O. K.
