58 B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE, CINCINNATI, O. Week of OCT. 27th, 1912. THREE JOSETTY BROS.: Risley acrobats. 8 min. F. S. Very rapid work - several new and startling stunts. Went good. LOUSIVILLE. DOWNS & GOMEZ: Colored singers. 15 min. in One. Downs is a good singer, and got hearty applause at both performances. TOLEDO. MILO BELDON & CO.: Comedy sketch entitled "The Surprise Party". 17 min. F. S. This is a splendid "rube" sketch, full of laughs and surprises. Went big. INDIANAPOLIS. EDNA LUBY: Songs and imitations of different comediennes. 22 min. in One. Very good - Made a distinct hit Sunday matinee, and sustained it Sunday night. LOUISVILLE. WARD & CURRAN: Comedy sketch, entitled "The New Stage Door Tender". 28 min. in one, own drop. A big laugh from beginning to end, and one of the hits of the show. INDIANAPOLIS. "DETECTIVE KEEN": Sketch. 18 min. F. S. An unusual plot, full of surprises, which holds the audience wondering what is coming next even to the very finish. Strongly presented - Went big. INDIANAPOLIS. JAMES THORNTON: Song writer and comedian. 22 min. in One. Mr. Thornton has apparently seen his best days as an entertainer. His Sunday matinee offering was a long, tiresome monologue of jokes and stories which he has told here long ago, and more than a hundred people walked out on him. At the matinee he fell flat. His delivery is poor, and there is no life in it. Sunday night he followed the same monologue, with an attempt at singing, but this, too, fell flat. This high salaried attraction is a dampener on an otherwise good show. To have kept him in seventh place Sunday night would have probably emptied half the house. We substituted Ward & Curran, who held the entire audience. CHICAGO. LEITZEL SISTERS: Aerial act. 11 min. F. S. Splendid act - good closer. MEMPHIS. B. F. KEITHOSCOPE: Pathe's weekly. 13 minutes. NOTE: Attention is invited to the report from Indianapolis last week, on Downs & Gomez, which reads; "Audiences in this town are not prepared to accept negro acts unless they are comedy." This applies with equal, if not greater force, to Cincinnati. C. L. Doran. Order of show was changed as follows; and it is now going much better: 1 - Three Josetty Bros. 2 - Downs & Gomez. 3 - Milo Beldon. 4 - Jas. Thonton. 5 - "Detective Keen. 6 - Edna Luby. 7 - Ward & Curran. 8 - Leitzel Sisters.
