68 HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, WEEK NOV. 4 1912. JOS. [?]. SMITH. THE AHERNS Man and a woman in a head and hand balancing act. Feature of the act is an electrically lighted wheel in which the woman steps while the man holds the wheel and whirls her rapidly around. The act is nicely costumed. Fair opening act. F.S. 8 Min. FRASER-BRADLEY and COMPANY Three men and a woman in an act entitled, "Shifty". Scene parlor of fashionable home. Maid has prepared everything for the arrival of a visitor. Two burglars enter and while at work are frightened by sounds of police whistles. One thief darts into room and the other hurries to the basement. Detective enters. The thieves return disguised as the lady who was expected and the other as the janitor. They succeed in getting the detective's gun away from him by a ruse and then with him tied to a chair rob the house at their leisure. The detective's discomfiture is the signal for hearty laughs. the act went fair in this spot. C.D.F. 13 Min. WILBUR SWEATMAN The "rag-time" clarinetist was at his best today. He makes two changes in costume at during part of the act plays a selection upon two instruments at the same time. This act went big at both performances and could easily hold down a better position on the bill. In one 14 Min. FORD SISTERS Presenting the "Legends of Mythology". Eight women nicely costumed in a pantomime in which they introduce some pretty dances. The stage effects are very pretty. The story of the act was well told in a pantomimic manner, but the audience did not appreciate it. The story, based on Greek legends, was too deep for this audience and consequently the act suffered. Time of act 20 Min. with special scenery. INTERMISSION
