81 C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. NOV. 11, 1912 OLLIE YOUNG & APRIL. 12 min. F. S. A very novel act, well presented and a very satisfactory opener. Both make a good appearance and their soap bubble blowing is really extraordinary. Play billiards with the soap bubbles, filling the bubbles with illuminated gas and sending them up over the audience. Makes a showy finish with the bubbles exploding in air. JAMES F. MacDONALD. 17 min. in one. Had a good selection of songs which he put over in fairly good style and got considerable applause. All right for any early spot on the bill. A good closing hand after his number "The Irish and the Jews." MA-BELLE & HER SYLVAN BALLET. 16 min. F. S. One of the prettiest dancing acts we have ever played. Ma-Belle is assisted by eight very competent young dancers. Make two changes of costume, and with a special tropical scene for a drop, make a fine appearance. Mlle. Ma-Belle's dancing is artistic and original, doing toe dancing, a little of the Greek and eccentric, all of which received a splendid hand. Made a big close for a dancing act. FAY, 2 COLEYS & FAY. 17 min. in one. this at was a big laughing hit from start to finish. Contains many novelties and surprises. Held this spot in great shape. JOE JACKSON. 12 min. F. S. Big advance applause. To say that this man was a riot of laughter and applause is putting it mildly. He was a positive scream from first to last and made a rousing finish with five or six curtain calls. VERA MICHELENA. [10?] min. in one. A mighty pretty woman with some costumes that are perfectly stunning. Has a charming voice and put over some new songs in a manner that brought immense applause. Responded to three repeats of the refrain of her last song. JESSIE BUSLEY & CO. "Miss 318." 25 min. F. S. A very clever sketch in Rupert Hughes' vein and Miss Busley and her support got the most out of the witty lines. A sketch that would go anywhere with entire success. Closed strong. ED. WYNN, assisted by EDMUND RUSSON. Big advance hand. This is Wynn's native town, and, of course, everything that he said and did went big. For the most part his old material, but with the variations, it went strong and closed well. HASTINGS & WILSON. 8 min. F. S. This makes a very good closing act. Plenty of comedy, eccentric dancing and the most amusing finish with their acrobatic stunt with the invisible wire. Made a big finish. KINETOGRAPH. Particularly interesting international film. GENERAL REMARKS. This show played off to everybody's satisfaction to a big afternoon house, everybody remaining to the finish and wondering how the time went so quickly. Certainly ought to do the business during our Anniversary Week.
