83 GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURGH, PA. JOHN P. HARRIS. NOVEMBER 4th, 1912. LANDRY BROS. 7 minutes. Full Stage. Garden. Exploits on Perpendicular ropes. this act is really a novelty and gets considerable applause. One of the best opening acts we have played. ETHEL McDONOUGH. 12 minutes. Olio. "Delineator of Popular Songs." Miss McDonough just gets by and it is due entirely to her real hard work. I would not care to recommend her for a later place on the bill than No 2. EMERSON & BALDWIN. 12 minutes. Full stage. Comedy juggling act. Playing them No. 3 on our bill. Would do very well to open the show. PHINA & PICKS. 10 minutes. Olio. This act was a big hit, the Picks being exceptionally good. SARANOFF. 16 minutes. Special. Full Stage. "The Gypsy Idyl." Violinist. Saranoff is a very good violinist. He is getting a salary that, in my opinion, is at least $100. too much. Even as salaries go, I would consider $200. a big salary for him. UNA CLAYTON & CO. 30 minutes. Full Stage. Interior. "A Child Shall Lead Them." A good dramatic sketch with plenty of comedy. Miss Clayton is a clever actress, but her company is far from being good. However, the act is a hit. HUNTING & FRANCIS. 12 minutes. Olio in One. "A Love Lozenger." Talking, Singing & Dancing act. Tony Hunting is a very clever comedian and has no trouble in making good. They are taking several bows at the close of their act at every performance. IDA BROOKS HUNT and CHERIDAH SIMPSON 13 minutes. Full Stage. Palace. In a Musical Repertoire. Miss Brooks and Miss Simpson are really a big hit. At the close of their act they are taking five and six curtain calls. Miss Hunt in the "My Hero" song from "The Chocolate Soldier" is a terrific hit. WALTER C. KELLY. 19 minutes. Olio in One. In "The Virginia Judge". Just as big a hit as ever. REROS BROS. 12 minutes. Full Stage. Garden. Trapeze act. These men are clever performers. Their apparatus is very fine and their work on the trapeze is as good as any we have ever seen, but it is not a closing act, their work being entirely too slow for this position. MOTION PICTURES. Pathe's.
