87 B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of Nov. 11th, 1912 Cleveland, Ohio CLARA BALLERINI - - Trapeze Artiste. 8 minutes, palace in 4. A good opening act, which received applause. The lady does a Spanish dance, which if eliminated would not affect her act. (Indianapolis) MARIE FENTON - The Melody Maid. 12 minutes in one. This young lady did not arrive in time to hold her advertised spot on the bill, but was compelled to take the seventh spot in the afternoon. Her songs are catchy, and she changes costume for each one. She held down the second spot on the bill very well. (Pittsburg) MR. & MRS. MARK MURPHY - - Comedy Skit "The Coal Strike". 19 minutes, C.D.F., close in one. This old act is about played out. If its a case of charity I'd rather give them the salary and let them lay off. A great many of the jokes are very raw and the audiences Monday did not seem to think a great deal of the whole affair. I hope it has played the Hippodrome for the last time. (Syracuse) KARA - - The Modern Juggler. 18 minutes, palace. this act comes mighty near taking the honors for the program. It is high class in every particular and decidedly original. Kara has a man assistant, who is an acrobat and a good comedian, and between the two of them they give 18 minutes of as clever entertainment as anyone could wish to see. The act will hold down any spot, no matter how fast the company. (Columbus) AL & FANNIE STEADMAN - - Comedy songs and dances. 17 minutes in one, using an upright piano. This is just a fair act. Both participants in the same are very confident of their comedy powers and carry their fun a little too far at times. The act gets laughs however, but would work better further up on a program (Dayton) LULU GLASER & CO - - Comedy playlet "First Love". Two men, One woman. 22 minutes, library. With the exception of the cuts Miss Glaser made in her songs she comes very near presenting her act as per suggested by the program. If she could sing, she's forgotten how now, and it may have been because of the realization of the fact that she cut two songs at the matinee and one in the evening. As a comedienne she is clever, while the vehicle was presumably built for the purpose of giving her talents the best play possible. The act is by no means a big one and will create no talk. (Brooklyn) MORGAN, BAILEY & MORGAN- - Two men, one girl. 12 minutes in one with upright piano. The act would be better without the girl, as the trio depends upon songs, dances and some little comedy to get over. A rathskeller act which would hold up better in second place, and will never tear down a house in any position. (Pittsburg) FOUR LONDONS - Casting act. 8 minutes. full stage. The same hit it has always been and capable of closing any show. On our big full stage it was transformed into a big spectacular act. (Louisville)
