102 HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, WEEK NOV. 25, 1912. Jos. R. Smith. JOHN REYNOLDS The dare devil with his tables and chairs a young man who performs balancing stunts while atop of tables and chairs. He closes his performance juggling four balls while sitting on a pivoted chair that rests on six tables. The act went well. C.D.F. Time of act 12 Min. ADELINE FRANCIS "The Graphophone Girl". A young woman, nicely costumed, who sings, tells stories and carries on a monologue with the aid of the graphophone. The instrument reproduces her voice. Fair No. 2 act. In two 14 Min. GOLDEN and HUGHES Two men, both blackface and one dressed as a woman. They sing, dance and do some whistling as well as carry a monologue. The act went fair in this spot. In one 15 Min. "AND THEY LIVED HAPPY EVER AFTER" Four men and two women in a novelty sketch. The scene is the dimly lighted study of a novelist. While he is reading the last chapter of his latest book, several performers enter on the stage and interpret his words literally. Only the novelist does the talking, the rest of the cast acting grotesquely. The sketch went well at both performances. F.S. 14 Min. INTERMISSION. MURIEL and FRANCIS Two girls, nicely costumed, who sing well, play the piano and have a humorous monologue. In one 15 Min. "THE GIRL HATERS," by Lew Fields. Three men and two women in a comedy sketch that is enacted in the living room of the men's quarters. The men are confirmed woman haters and the new female janitor does not help change their feeling one bit. Several times she threatens to whip them. The comedy is brought out when the men change their clothes and prepare for bed. Their night gowns get a laugh and their makeshift beds bring more laughs. In the end their dislike for women is changed by a good looking damsel who strays into their apartment by mistake. She bows out leaving them wishing for her to return. F.S. 18 Min. WARREN and CONLEY Man and a woman, neatly dressed, do some clever singing, dancing and piano playing. this act went big at both shows. In one 15 Min. VAN CLEVE, DENTON and "Pete" Man, woman and a mule in a circus act. The man is blackface and brings out the comedy in his efforts to ride the mule. Only a fair closing act. F.S. special drop, 8 Min. PHOTOPLANE Unsatisfactory. (Liquid Air.) After first performance changed Warren and Conley from No. 3 to next to closing.
