139 B. F. KEITH'S - BOSTON SHOW - WEEK DECEMBER 23, 1912. (R. G. Larsen.) CHARLES LEDEGAR. 10 minutes f.s. Garden. The Flying Dutchman on the tight rope. An excellent opener for the holiday show. CARLETON and KAY. 15 minutes in one. Olio. This is Ubert Carleton, formerly of the Bayes & Norworth act, and Kathleen Kay, a recruit from burlesque, in songs and dances. I regret to state that the songs did not get over very well, the one redeeming feature being the "Tango" dance at the finish. ADONIS and DOG. 10 minutes f.s. Special set. Same big hit as when here last summer. PEALSON and GOLDIE. 14 minutes in one. Street. A very good two-man act, one straight and the other Hebrew character. Whistling, songs and talk. Got over in first-rate shape at both shows to-day. "FIXING THE FURNACE." 18 minutes f.s. Special set. One of the funniest sketches we have played in a long time. Kept the audience in roars of laughter from start to finish. FLYNN and MCLAUGHLIN. 11 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Man and woman in a singing and dancing act, with several changes of costume. They work hard and held this spot in pretty good shape. GILLETT'S ANIMALS. 18 minutes f.s. Garden. A great act for holiday week. Kept them laughing every minute. KATE WATSON. 12 minutes in one. Garden. Miss Watson is doing nothing new this trip, but she went about as well as on previous visits. "THE APPLE OF PARIS." 17 minutes f.s. Three special sets. A beautifully staged French pantomime, with some good dancing. Held the interest every minute up to the tragic finish, and closed well. CHRISTMAS TREE. This feature, which is presented every afternoon at the close of the regular performance, proved as popular as ever. The house was packed with youngsters, and they all went on the stage and received a toy from Santa Claus. COMMENT: Owing to the preponderance of children in our afternoon audiences, the afternoon show will run as follows: Charles Ledegar - Carleton & Kay - Fixing Furnace - Flynn & McLaughlin - Adonis & Dog - Pealson & Goldie - Apple of Paris - Kate Watson - Gillett's Animals - Xmas Tree. The night show will run as in above report.
