140 HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, WEEK DECEMBER 23, 1912. Tuesday night. Jos. R. Smith. DUNN and HUGHES Man and a woman in a singing and whistling specialty. The woman, neatly dressed sing several songs while the man whistles several imitations of birds and animals. The scenery, a lake shore at night time with stars and moon shining was pretty. The act went fair in this position, but believe it would improve if placed in No. 2 spot. F.S. 20 Min. EZRA KENDALL JR. Son of the famous comedian in songs and monologue. He sang satisfactorily, put his stuff over well and went big with this audience. In one 14 Min. WALT. TERRY and COMPANY Two men and two women in the comedy satire, "The Dancing Missionary". Scene a jungle, on a cannibal island. Missionary finds the tribe is presided over by a white woman as queen. The cannibals intend to kill the missionary when the queen saves him. He gets in to her favor by dancing. His dances also win the cannibals and the act closes with the missionary, queen and cannibals all dancing together. Terry's dancing is the only feature of the act. F.S. special scenery, 17 Min. in one 3 Min. time of act 20 Min. EIGHT ENGLISH ROSES Eight young women in songs and dancing. The dancing is the feature of the act. Each member performs an individual dance concluding the act with a rope skipping dance that was clever. The act went good. F.S. 10 Min. INTERMISSION GILDAY and ASHTON Two men, one straight and the other a Hebrew, both dressed as surveyors. They have a snappy monologue and sing several clever [???] parodies. This act went big. In one 15 Min. "ARCADIA" Presented by B.A. Rolfe. Six men and four women. Scene represents exterior of a handsome home with an arbor and beautiful overhangings along the Riviera on the French coast.The entire company assembles for the opening song number. When they retire one man gives a cornet solo. He retires and two members, a man and a woman, give a song and dance. They retire and the entire company assembly for the final number. One woman stands in the orchestra pit and acts as director. One man sings while the other members of the company play brass instruments with the exception of one woman who uses a harp. The men are dressed in evening clothes and the women are in decollite. Their costumes are handsome. The scenery is gorgeous. The act went big. F.S. Time of act 25 Min. JENNINGS AND WILSON Two men in blackface with songs and monologue. They put their stuff over well and their act went big. In one 12 Min. LOZANO TROUPE Five women and two men in a wire novelty. The act is nicely costumed. The difficult tricks are performed on two tight wires strung alongside each other. The act is the best of its kind that has ever played this house. It went big with this audience. F.S. 9 Min. PHOTOPLANE Satisfactory.
