146 Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of December 30, 1912. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. This is an ideal holiday bill; all the acts made a good impression upon the audience. DE HAVEN & LEONARD DeHaven, being of the old team of DeHaven & Sydney, working with a young lady of attractive personality; they do some good dancing, fair singing and pleasing comedy. To my mind the act is considerably better than the old DEHAVEN & SYDNEY act. Would easily be satisfactory in No. 2 spot anywhere. 12 Min. in One. THE GEE JAYS Man and woman in the old marionette bodies with human heads act; they manipulate the figures better than any I ever saw; pleased very well indeed. All right anywhere for an early spot. 10 Min. F. S. LYONS & YOSCO It was pretty soft for these boys going on No. 3, and that they were welcome was shown by the big advance applause that they received - something very unusual for this house. They scored the big hit they always make here and could have, of course, easily held a much more difficult position on the program. 19 Min. in One. GILLETTE'S ANIMALS I was a little bit disappointed in this act, I don't believe it shows much merit in the training, but there is a lot of comedy by the monkeys running around the stage, chasing the darky and getting a lot of laughs in that way; a good act for the children, but I wouldn't want to say anything much stronger than that for it. 16 Min. F. S. CONNOLLY & WENRICH this act didn't appear to as good advantage as it did when I saw it in New York; just why, I don't know. I suppose they are doing the same work, but the construction of our house brings the audience somewhat nearer the stage and Miss Connolly didn't appear to such good advantage. Her songs got over fairly well; the bigger hit being made by Mr. Wenrich's medley of his successes and by the singing of the boy at the finish. 18 Min. in One. VIRGINIA HARNED & CO. In a very good dramatic sketch that got plenty of laughs and applause at the finish. I think, however, for the money we are paying Miss Harned, she could give us a better man in her support. 25 Min. F. S. BROWN, HARRIS & BROWN As usual - they came in and cleaned up. 28 Min. in One. Had the audience laughing every moment they were on the stage. THE THREE SAYTONS Made a very good closing feature for the show, because of the spectacular side of the act, the audience waiting, being attracted by the scenery and make-up of the men as crocodiles, and having waited they were well repaid by some very clever contortion work by the two men. 10 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
