199 Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of February 3, 1913. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. We have an exceptionally good bill this week; every act on the program making good, some of them most decided hits. KARL GREES Lightning oil painter; this man has a novelty, doing his sketches in oil, lighting them well, placing large gilt frames around them, making altogether a very pleasing effect and giving us something out of the ordinary with acts of this kind. A good novelty that was appreciated by the audience. 10 Min. in One and a half. BUCKLEY'S ANIMALS Here's another exceptionally good act that is too well-known along the line for me to describe; got plenty of applause and laughter; the only fault I find with the act is its extreme shortness. 7 Min. F. S. RALPH SMALLEY Mr. Smalley is a cellists, formerly of the Boston Symphony Orchestra; he plays a grade of music that is appealing to the better class of vaudeville audiences, and their appreciativeness was shown today by plenty of applause for each of his selections. 11 Min. in One. UNA CLAYTON & CO. In a serio comic sketch entitled "A Little child Shall Lead Them." A very well written vehicle and quite well played by both Miss Clayton and the members of her company. The act made good thoroughly. 28 Min. F. S. THE FARBER SISTERS This act was a distinct surprise, although I had been told it was good, I had no idea it would pan out quite as strongly as it did. One of the girls is an exceptionally good comedienne. The audience was most insistent with encores and I believe they could be there yet. 14 Min. in One. JUNGMAN FAMILY A splendid wire act, one that is among the very best. Unfortunately, we have had so many wire acts of late that I am afraid this one will not be appreciated for its full worth; they made a distinct hit, however, regardless of the fact, they followed Bird Millman, who was here last week. 9 Min. F. S. CROSS & JOSEPHINE Another well-known act that is unnecessary to describe. It is a toss-up as to whether they or The Farber Sisters made the greater hit; those two acts being the decided hits of the show. 19 Min. in One. KATHRYN KIDDER & CO. In a condensation of "Mme. Sans Gene," which she calls "The Washerwoman Duchess." A very splendid act, splendidly played and met with marked approval. 21 Min. F.S. LEONARD & LOUIE An exceptionally good head and hand balancing act, by two young men, who make a very neat appearance and who relieve the monotony of the athletic feats with a little by-play of side-walk conversation; held the spot in excellent style. 8 Min. in One. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
