222 B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME FESTIVAL BILL Week of Feb. 17th, 1913 Cleveland, Ohio LAMB'S MANIKINS - - 8 minutes in 3, special set. A cleverly manipulated act well received and a good opening number. (Lewiston, Me) DE FAYE SISTERS - - 12 minutes in 1. Brinkley Banjo Girls. Dance a little bit. Fairly good act. (Toledo) FLANAGAN & EDWARDS - - "Off and On". 14 minutes, open in 3, close in 1. The boys went so well at the afternoon show that I jumped them down the bill. Very good act. (Buffalo) RAE FENTON & BOYS - - 13 minutes in 1. Some singing and dancing and several changes of costume. Good act. (Columbus) SLIVERS OAKLEY - - 20 minutes, special set in 3. Just as clever as ever. Went very well indeed. (Toledo) GENARO & BAILEY - - Made an awful flop on Monday afternoon both in their work and in the fearful scenery that they brought here with them. Rather than kill the show I thought it best to make a shift. Genaro & Bailey did not like the way I arranged the bill and so they left the city after the afternoon show and went back to New York. WILLARD MACK & CO - - Dramatic Sketch "Kick-In". 13 minutes, interior set. It is a splendid act. The best "underworld" act we have ever had. Made a pronounced hit with both Monday audiences. (Scranton) SULLY & HUSSEY - - "The Sportsman and the Valet". 20 minutes in 1. Two men in a comedy talking act that is fair to good. Started off rather light but finished strong. On re-arrangement they will go up on the bill. (Wheeling) PAUL CONCHAS - - 22 minutes, palace in 4. Assisted by a comedian who is some comic. Conchas' work is up to the standard and as good as anything he has ever presented. Made quite a hit with both Monday audiences. (Atlanta) LILLIAN HERLEIN - - "Beautiful Queen of Song". 22 minutes in 1. Not the least doubt but what the costumes are beautiful. As far as being the "Queen of Song" is concerned I think perhaps there were a few doubtful ones in the audience. However, as a whole the act is good and everyone seemed satisfied and that's all that's necessary. (Toledo) VAN OSS TROUPE - - Acrobats. 10 minutes in 4, palace. these people will have hard work finding an audience to play to this week, for at the time they go on in the afternoon most of our fair patrons are home cooking dinner for Father, and at the night show half the audience has already beat it for a trolley car. On Monday afternoon, the show was still booming at 5:30 and honest to goodness we started promptly at 2 o'clock. NOTE: With Genaro & Bailey refusing to accept their position on the bill, we re-arranged the show according to the strength of the acts shown at the Monday matinee, and this is what happened: Lamb's Manikins De Faye Sisters Slivers Sully & Hussey Willard Mack & Co Rae Fenton & Boys Paul Conchas Lillian Herlein Flanagan & Edwards Van Oss Troupe The only reason for Slivers being so far up the bill is because I had to separate him from Paul Conchas and The Van Oss Troupe and I did not want to lose Slivers' comedy so late on the bill. Therefore, I shoved him up where he starts off the show in great shape, because our audience is just about seated and quiet by the time he gets on.
