C.B.BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. DEC. 25, 1911. THE STANLEYS. 9 min. This pretty act won the crowd today, particularly the children whose laughter and applause could be heard everywhere through the house. Particularly good for a holiday week. "THOSE FRENCH GIRLS." 12 min. open in one, close F. S. An excellent act, appearing here for the second time and thoroughly making good. Both pretty, with several stunning changes of costume. Full stage set brilliant, and trapeze work well applaauded. Closed very strong. THREE WHITE KUHNS. 14 min. in one. Most gingery musical trio in vaudevills. A hit from the start and maintained their speed right up to the big close after two encores. WILL ROGERS. 17 min. open F.S., close in 1 1/2. Went quite as strong "alone" today as he has done on previous occasions with a more pretentious act. He has introduced a lot of amusing cowboy talk which gets the laugh all over the house, and his tricks with the rope are better than ever. DEWITT, BURNS & TORRANCE. 16 min. F.s. We were very fortunate in ngetting as typical a Christmass act as this for our holiday bill, and it went with its usual popularity with the children, receiving an advance hand and applause and laughter all through with a good close. In addition to much of the former routine, they have added a French head that made a great hit with the kids. LEONARD & RUSSEL. 23 min. in one. Good advance applause. Leonard won the big house today completely with his songs, and especially his dancing on the sanded mat. Introduced a good line of comeedy talk with Miss Russell and closed with his old minstrel favorite, "BeeLee Eyea." LOLO. 25 min.F.S. Avery pretty Indian girl who prepossesses the audience right away with a sweet smile and winning personality, brilliantly costumed with a romantic stage setting. Was blindfolded and proceeded to name articles handed to Major Cotten by patrons in the audience, and mystified everybody with her archer and sharpshooting. Received considerable applause throughout and closed well. RAYMOND & CAVERLY. 23 min. in one. Introduced a lot off new material interspersed with their old, all of which went immensely. Scored a laughing and applause hit. DIVING NORINS. 13 min. From the standpoint of the audience this is probably the best diving act we have shown, as the four people make it very pretentious looking and their work is brilliant and fast and many new and difficult feats are introduced. Held the audience in to the last dive and received more applause than any diving act we have ever had in the theatre. GENERAL REMARKS. A capacity holiday crowd enjoyed this show from start to finish if one is to judge by the constant applause, and in some places, acts were actually stopped the applause was so big. With plenty of comedy and fun, for the children, this ought to be a strong business week for us.
