B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE, CINCINNATI, O. Week of Jan. 14, 1912. HASTINGS & WILSON: "The Lunatics". 10 minutes, full stage. They do some clever acrobatic stunts, grotesque dancing and burlesque strong man. - Good comedy, plenty of laughs. Went good Sunday matinee and big at night. Act goes to BUFFALO. HORACE WRIGHT & [RENE?] DIETRICH: Songs. 17 minutes in One. Good songs, and both are good singers. A classy act - went big. OPEN next week. May remain over here, and may not. KLEIN BROS. & SIBYL BRENNAN: In "Bits of Musical Comedy". Same act as last season, with no change in either songs or talking. Went good. Act goes to MEMPHIS. "SCROOGE": Sketch. 33 minutes, full stage, own set. Tom Terriss' adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. Some very powerful acting by Wallis Clark as "Scrooge" and by Henry T. Humphrey as "The Ghost of Jacob Marley". Balance of the support is indifferent and unimportant Clark, as "Scrooge", is the big hit. Act went big. Goes to MEMPHIS. CARRIE DE MAR: Songs. 27 minutes in One. Advance hand. Miss De Mar has an elaborate act, with a special drop for each song. Her costumes are also elaborate. She sings "Trouserettes", "For Sale- A Widow", "The Matinee Girl", "Three Days on the Ocean", and "Lonesome Flossie", all being new here, except "Three Days on the Ocean". Every song was a hit. The act can really be called a production in itself. Every song was heartily applauded, and at the close the applause approached an ovation at both Sunday performances. High class work throughout. Goes to New York. MELVILLE & HIGGINS: In a sketch entitled "Just Married". 17 minutes in One. Advance hand. This team has a good deal of new stuff and some old. A tremendous laughing hit. Big favorite here. Act goes to NEW YORK. KARL EMMY & HIS PETS: A bunch of small dogs. Mr. Emmy has a very beautiful apparatus, which is the feature of his act, although the dogs are clever. At Sunday afternoon's performance Mr. Emmy lost patience several times and used his hand and his small whip so frequently as to cause comment from ladies in the audience. He was urged to cut this out. OPEN next week. Remains in Cincinnati if not filled. Following week MEMPHIS. B. F. KEITHOSCOPE: Pathe's Weekly of current events. 14 minutes. REMARKS: The show is a splendid one. At Sunday matinee Sibyl Brennan failed to appear, and the Klein Bros. did their act without her. She was on hand Sunday night. C. L. Doran.
