REPORT COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK JAN. 22 '12--W.W. PROSSER. GORDON BROTHERS & KANGAROO: Open with bag-punching, which is fairly good, finishes with comedy bout between men and kangaroo. Made a good opener with a strong finish. Wood in five, 9 minutes. (Cleveland) McGINNIS BROTHERS: Straight, eccentric and character dancing, all of which is very good. Made a very favorable impression, gaining applause and scoring a strong finish. Street in one, 17 minutes. (Pittsburgh) RYAN-RICHFIELD: Two men and one woman in a comedy skit, "Mag Haggerty, Osteopath". There is a mere thread of a story which serves acceptable for the delineation of Ryan's comedy. He made quite a personal success and was capably supported. Pretty good finish, and, an act, all in all, satisfactory. C.D.F. in three, 24 minutes. (Dayton) JAMES MACDONALD: "Songs and Sayings", principally the former. Has a pleasing way of rendering his songs which met with approval and gave him a good, strong finish. Olio in one, 16 minutes. (Open) MUSIKAL GIRLS: Five former Fadetts, headed by Estelle Churchill, the well-known drummer and pianist, who with violinist, 'celloist, cornetist and trombonist, rendered a series of high class and popular selections in a manner that stamped the act as a genuine hit. Good applause after each number. Several curtains and bows and extras in one. A big hit. C.D.F. in three, 20 minutes. (Erie) EVERYBODY: A very excellent morality playlet presented by a capable cast of 12 people. The act won and held undivided attention from the first. The interest was intense throughout and it gave unqualified satisfaction. About the best sketch we have had this season. Four special scenes, opening in one. 28 minutes. (Toledo) SANDERS TROUPE: Three men and two women offering Russian songs and dances. Act made good closer, holding them to the last. Applause was frequent and a good strong finish was scored. Terrace in four. 9 minutes. (Syracuse) MOTION PICTURE: "Pathe Weekly". O.K. Seventh on the bill and following "Everybody": GORDON AND MARX: German Comedians, who did much better this time than last trip. Plenty of laughter and a rousing comedy finish. Several bows. Street in one, 16 minutes. (Toledo)
