C. E. BARNS PHILADELPHIA SHOW FEB. 5th, 1912 CAMILLE TRIO 7 min F.S. Certainly a lively opener, keeping the audience in roars all through their rough comedy and fine acrobatics. Could hold a spot where a swift comedy bar of this kind is needed. EDITH MONTROSE 18 min in one. First appearance here. Miss Montrose makes a good appearance and started off with a song done in a pretty costume, then proceeded to make up back of a screen with her head showing over the top, keeping up a running fire of chatter while making theses changes with a help of a dresser behind the screen, Talk not particularly brilliant. Gave fout character impersonations, the best being Mme. Froschard from "The two Orphans.". Fair applause after each number and closed fairly well. Not an act for a strong spot on the bill. KAJIYAMA 25 min F.S. Second visit here and the same line of work as previously, all of which went strong. A very novel act deserving of all the applause it gets. KIMBERLY AND HODGKINS. 16 min in one, These two boys carry a drop made up of song-sheet titles. One of the boys is an expert pianist and a good deal of a comedian, dressing in woman's attire in the latter part of the act. Songs are well selected and got good applause. Held the spot very well and received several curtain calls. "CALIFORNIA" 37 min F.S. A beautiful stage setting and well selected cast, all with good voices. Good comedy and well-connected thread with dramatic narrative. The music is especially good and original. Act has been described elsewhere, and went as well here as has done in other cities, which means that it held the central spot on the bill to everybody's satisfaction. Closed with two curtain calls. MARSHALL MONTGOMERY 15 min in one. This ventriloquist has been seen and much enjoyed here before. Doing the regulation stunts with his dummy, throwing his voice while drinking and smoking with telephone and bird-warbling variations. Received advance applause and held the spot O.K. up to a very satisfactory finish. DINKELSPIELS CHRISTMAS 22 min F.S. Same comedy as presented here before and presented by the same people. Went with laughter and applause all the way through and closed well. NONETTE 13 min in one. A very pretty girl with an immense of talent. She sings well, but her violin turn is full of individuality, fire and color. Everyone of her selections got a strong hand, whether classical or popular. Was compelled to give an encore, "Silver Threads Among the Gold," which she played with admirable expression and sweetness of tone. Would be a hit on any bill where high class music is appreciated. BRADNA & DERRICK 8 min F.S. a showman-like and skillful equestrian act that makes an ideal closer for any bill. Splendid equestrian stunts done on a most artistic manner and winning abundant applause. Leaves nothing to be desired in rounding our a good comedy novelty bill. KINETOGRAPH A splendid real of current events. GENERAL REMARKS A good show with capacity house and think we will continue the good business that last week's fun-show pulled in. CUTS Edith Montrose. Substitution of word "HEBREW" for word Jew. DINKELSPIELS XMAS. Substitution of work "INK for word "H----
