Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of Mar. 11, 1912. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. The bill this week is not very good. HUGH BLANEY Descriptive singer. I don't see how this man ever got by anywhere even in the small time. 9 Min. in One. FLORENCE CROSY & CO. in a condensed version of "Samson & Delilah" This is a big scenic affair with two principal singers, a couple of dancing girls and two or three other people who stand around the stage. The music, of course, is very good and is not badly sung, but it will never be a real vaudeville act and while it is to be deplored, these people have put so much money in the thing and can't get it out, the fact still remains that it wont help matters any by sticking to it. My advice to them would be to drop it. Got quite a little applause at the finish and at the price I am paying, it is all right, particularly as I can afford to put it up early on the bill, but they couldn't carry it around the country for less than twice what I am paying for it and it is not worth it. 18 Min. F. S. RALPH BROWN GRAHAM This is a Brown University college boy, who is doing a magic act, put on this week for local draught. All right for my purpose but not an act that will be wanted anywhere else. ADONIS & DOG This well-known act did as well as usual. It is splendidly staged. The man does some clever balancing. Of course, the feature is the dog. Nice little act, but really belongs a little earlier on the bill. 10 Min. F. S. NEVINS & ERWOOD Man and woman, black-face comedians. First part of the act is rather slow and they didn't score very well until their dance at the finish, which sent them off to a good hand. 17 Min. in One. HANLON BROTHERS & CO. Pantomimsts In a pantomimic sketch called "Just Phor Phun;" too well-known to need description. While I consider these people extremely clever, the act only went well in spots. The team work of the two clowns is remarkable and that got a good hand; the finish is lively and slap-sticky, which went all right but the rest of the act was rather tame. Didn't go nearly as well here as it did when I saw it at the 5th Avenue. 18 Min. F. S. MOORE & HAAGER This act is rather disappointing. They scored only fairly well. 15 Min. in One. MAY TULLY & CO. In a sketch called "The Battle Cry of Freedom." This is unquestionably the best thing on the bill and was recognized as such by the audience. It is an excellent sketch, well played by Miss Tully and all the members of her company. 27 Min. F. S. JACK WILSON & CO. In their regular hodge-podge of nonsense and burlesque of the preceding acts. Made their usual big hit. 24 Min. in One. CLEMENSO BROS. Old-fashioned musical clown act with a little acrobatics. The act is all right; pleased fairly well. They get, at least $50 too much money. 8 Min. F.S. MOTION PICTURES. O .K.
