C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. MARCH 11, 1912. DeVELDA & ZELDA. 8 min. F.S. Man and woman making a very fine appearance, the woman being very graceful, the man very powerful. Do the work on the trapeze and high pedestal. Each one of their feats got a hand and they closed well after the spectacular illuminate cycle feat. LEWIS & DODY. 15 min. in one. Open their act with an original line of talk which gets scattered laughs. Then proceed to their ragtime and dialect songs well put over. Held this spot in good shape. Closed very well. STAFFORD & STONE. 19 min. F.S. Advance applause on the rise of the curtain and the posing dogs. A very novel and satisfactory act, well put on and finished in every respect. Stafford's bird songs and whistling are quite remarkable and Miss Stone is a very pretty girl with a fine voice and pleasing personality. Closed strong after the surprise finish. JOHN & MAE BURKE. 20 min. in one. this is the native town of this clever pair and, of course, being great favorites here everything they said and did received a big hand. Plenty of comedy, good songs and expert piano-playing with a smashing big finish. STONE & KALISZ. 24 min. F.S. Big advance hand. This is a beautiful act, admirably presented with nothing to be desired in the way of costuming, music or other details. Held the interest of the audience completely from start to finish with occasional applause and the close was very big. Same act as presented here before but more finished and perfect. JAMES J. MORTON. 13 min. in one. Big advance hand. First appearance here in several years and he received a big reception. Some of his old material, but for the most part it was new and very amusing. Plenty of laughs all over the house with occasional applause. Closed strong. MACLYN ARBUCKLE & CO. "The Reform Candidate." 26 min. F.S. This is a strong sketch in the spirit of Arbuckle's previous successes and suits his personality to perfection. Held the interest of the audience throughout with occasional bright and popular lines strongly applauded. Made a big finish. EMMA CARUS. 22 min. in one. Made a distinct hit this afternoon with some of her old songs but more that were new and all put over in characteristic style. Big advance hand and applause all the way through. THREE YOSCARYS. 10 min. F.S. All three work straight and the work is quite unconventional and good, receiving plenty of applause and introducing considerable humor. Makes a good closing feature. KINETOGRAPH. Good comedy film. GENERAL REMARKS. An excellent show, playing off well and satisfying everybody. CUTS JOHN BURKE:- Word "damn."
