B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Cleveland, O [Ohio] - Week March 11th, 1912 Palmer C. Slocum HASTINGS & WILSON - Contortionists and burlesque strong act. 16 minutes in three. This act is practically unchanged from previous seasons, finished last night with a good hand. (Syracuse) BURNS & FULTON - Singing and dancing novelty. 14 minutes in one. This act is rather a novelty in its line. A man and woman doing unusual acrobatic dancing. The afternoon show working with a special plush drop in three, which resulted in a wait. They went hotter at the evening show working in one. This act is well dressed and the team were enthusiastically applauded at the continuation of their final number. JONES & GRANT - Singing and talking. 17 minutes in one. Both are gentlemen of color and have been seen here before. They went well last night, took several bows. Neither of the men used [cork?] which would greatly add to their personalities. Audiences here do not seem to care particularly about the uncolored coon (Columbus) COVINGTON & WILBUR - "The Parsonage" Special and full stage. 15 minutes. Mr. Covington and Miss Wilbur have in this playlet one of the classiest things of its kind ever shown in the Hippodrome. Two people take the part of seven characters changing off stage. There are no waits in the plot of the playlist. It was so plausible that the attention of the audience was held throughout. The stage acting is most realistic showing a little house, grass covered yard and small town light effect. This act was unusually well received, the team taking three bows after the final curtain (Indianapolis). LEE WHITE & GEORGE PERRY 15 minutes in one. Man and woman doing singing and taking. This is a return engagement for this team. Monday night's audience, a greater part of which had seen them at the time of their previous engagement in Cleveland, would not have recognized it as the same team. The natural animation in love of their work which has made them favorites here several months ago, seems to have disappeared. They worked very technically at both shows Monday and were received in much the same spirit. The act was well dressed and when going right is one of the best acts in one we have had here this season (Columbus) HOWARD & NORTH - 13 minutes. Special act in two. This team is presenting "Back to Wellington" It was a scream from start to finish. We had men smile yesterday, who never smiled before. (Memphis) MARION LITTLEFIELD'S FLORENTINE SINGERS - 20 minutes. Special drop in two. Close in one. Four men and four women, singing operatic and folk songs. This act has an unusually high class tenor and baritone and they succeed in carrying a greater burden of the work. The company works hard and forms several very pretty pictures in front of special drops. The act was well received last night and is strong in its position. It carries an orchestra leader (Louisville) THREE [illegible] - 9 minutes. Full stage. Special act which occasioned three minute wait. This is one of the best acts we have had this season, in a closing position. Triple horizontal [illegible], using the bouncing net. Best act of it's [its] kind in the business. (Philadelphia).
