TRENT THEATRE CRITICISM, WEEK OF MARCH 25, 1912 By J. F. Clancy AFTERNOON SHOW WARREN & FAUST This is a fair act with which to open a show. The dancing is particularly good but the talking is very ordinary and I think the act would be very much improved if some of this was cut. EL COTA This well-known entertainer made good here, as usual. GARDNER & MOORE Singing and talking act in "one." I understand this act is practically new. They put it over this afternoon in very good shape and received quite a reception at the finish. "THE LIFER" Melodramatic production in three scenes. This is an unusually fine production from a scenic point of view and the story is just as effective as the stage settings. The story is probably the longest that vaudeville has ever had. so far as my knowledge goes. It runs forty-three minutes and at the matinee today it held interest throughout. INTERMISSION ISHIKAWA BROTHERS This is certainly a novelty in acrobatic acts, but notwithstanding this, went very poorly this afternoon. The reason, I know not. GUS EDWARDS' SONG REVUE OF 1911-1912 Preceded by an unusually long show Mr. Edwards and his organization held this spot on the bill better than any act we ever had in the house. His act was a tremendous hit at the matinee today and I look for it to draw us considerable business before the week is over.
