B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME - Cleveland, Ohio Week March 25, 1912 MANNING TWINS - Acrobatic dancers, doing 8 minutes in 2. A well dressed sister team with only mediocre talent as song and dance artists. Their acrobatic stunts however are difficult and are executed with a finish which brings a good hand at the finish (Not Booked) WARREN & KEEFE - Comedian and Yodler. 17 minutes in 1. One straight man working with a black face comedian. Comedy very poor and aside from the singing of the straight man the act is without merit. The yodling received enthusiastic recognition (New York) KALMAR & BROWN - Character songs and dances/ 19 minutes, f.s. special set. A mighty neat dancing act, very much enjoyed by Monday's audience, every number being applauded. Well dressed man and woman who put an artistic touch to their work. Forced to do two extras for Monday's audience (Not Booked) LA BELLE TITCOMB - The Singer on Horseback. 12 minutes F.S. Black cyclorama. Because of the 12 to 15 minutes it takes to set this act we were forced to use a picture. Her billing calls for a set in eight minutes which cannot be done. A white horse is used and Titcomb sings while on its back. Special lighting effects are carried. The black drop and other stage equipment used is pretty well worn and shows up badly under a spot which is used throughout. The horse and stage pictures are the feature of this act, as Titcomb don't know the first rule of singing (Indianapolis) EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR - Male quartette. 19 minutes in 1. Same old act. Audience still laughs at comedy and applauds the barber shop chords used as climaxes for each song (Not booked) LILLIAN MORTIMER & CO- Melodramatic sketch "Po White Trash Jimmy" Six characters, f.s. special. Exterior house set, 20 minutes. Heros, heroines, villians, choloform, marriage at the point of a revolver, and unlooked for fortunes, all go to make up the act. The audience does not take kindly to the over-drawn story and it was only fairly well received. (Close here-going into stock) NAT WILLS - 25 minutes in 1. Same hit as ever. Wills has new songs, parodies on present day popular numbers. A big hand and called back for another story (Indianapolis) VALLECITA'S LEOPARDS - F.S. Using large steel cage. 8 minutes. With the exception of a musical trick animals do, the act sticks to the usual repertoire. The woman dresses the act neatly and is at home in the cage. (Syracuse) PALMER C. SLOCUM
