B. F. Keith's Hippodrome Cleveland, Ohio - Week April 22nd OLYMPIC TRIO- - Phenomenal Acrobats. 9 minutes, garden in 4. This trio did their entire act on a set of parallel bars. They present a number of novelties and were unusually well received. (Syracuse) DOROTHY RUSSELL & CO- - In an Original Musical Melange. 17 minutes C.D.F., close in two, with a street car scene. Because of the elaborate settings in this act, a four minute wait is filled in by the orchestra. The feature of Miss Russell's act is Jules Linfield, a young violinist, whose name does not appear upon the program, and he is permitted by Miss Russell to take one bow. Two grand pianos are used by two young men who are better piano players than actors. Miss Russell personally personally is unusually well dressed throughout her sketch, which has no plot and a weak finish. While she did not excite undue enthusiasm, the act was well received at both performances Monday. (Columbus) GREY TRIO- - Offering Classical and Popular Harmony. 12 minutes in one with a Grand Piano. Two well dressed women, one of whom can sing and one who seems to be a filler for the act, a man who dresses well and is a fairly good vocalist. Regardless of their individual voices, this trio goes over with a rush, was called back several times last night. Their material is more popular than classical. (Columbus) RIVOLI - - European Change ARtist - - Open C.D.F. closes in orchestra pit, leading orchestra with picture machine, throwing slides of the composers he impersonates upon the screen. His time varies from 18 to 20 minutes, but the act is far from tiresome and was unusually well received at Monday's performances (Columbus) HARRIET BURT- Songs and Stories. 16 minutes in 1. This young lady goes over very big. She is most attractive in appearance and has an elaborate wardrobe. Her personality is such that she walks into immediate favor, staying there throughout her act. She was called back three times last night and finally gave an extra number (Dayton) JOHNNY & EMMA RAY- - Offering Their New Sketch "The Band Master" 18 minutes C.D.F., close in one. The offering is along the line of all the other Ray offerings, the act depending upon laughs from Mr. Ray's personal appearance and rather unrefined line of conversation. While it was well received here Monday, other acts overshadowed it as far as appreciation of the audience was concerned (Scranton) LYONS & YOSCO - - 18 minutes in one. Well known act. Scored very heavily. All new songs. One of the biggest hits on the bill. (Pittsburg) THE GREAT ASAHI - In feats of Magic Mystery & Risley. They work 23 minutes full stage, special drop. A spectacular and mystery act. One of the best closing numbers we have had this season. The audiences remained seated until the fall of the curtain. (Pittsburg) Palmer C. Slocum P. S. In my opinion Miss Russell's act goes much better in this spot than if they had followed the Grey Trio
