BOSTON SHOW - WEEK AUGUST 26, '12. (R. G. Larsen.) LAVAN TRIO. 6 minutes f.s. Garden. Two men and a woman in a triple horizontal bar act. Quite a number of good tricks and some fair comedy. Made a good opening feature. BENN LINN. 9 minutes in one. Olio. This man reminds one somewhat of Phil Staats, minus the piano. He sings four songs, incidentally poking considerable fun at his avoirdupois. Is a good coon-shouter, and gets his stuff over very well. Could hold a later spot with credit. FOUR MUSICAL GORDON HIGHLANDERS. 15 minutes f.s. Close in one. C.D.F. and olio. These people were a big hit to-night. Were obliged to make a speech before the audience would let them go. MRS. GEORGE A. HIBBARD & CO. 20 minutes f.s. C. D. F. Mrs. Hibbard is the widow of the Ex-Mayor of Boston, and has had considerable experience in amateur theatricals and local stock companies. She received a tremendous reception at both performances here to-day, and her dramatic sketch, "A Queen's Messenger," held the interest throughout. Closed with a big hand and many flowers. ADELE FERGUSON and EDNA NORTHLANE. 17 minutes open and close in one. Palace drop in two. These girls open with a song and dance in one, then go to a grand piano in two, and close with boy and girl impersonation in one. Their opening number gets over well, and their two closing numbers in one went big at both shows. It must be confessed, however, that the piano numbers do not bring them anything, except to make changes. HENRY E. DIXEY. 19 minutes in 3, C. D. F. Nothing short of a great big hit. SULLY and HUSSEY. 22 minutes in one. Street. These two boys have not changed their stuff much since their last visit, with the exception of their songs, but they duplicated the hit they scored in this house a year ago. JOHN C. RICE and SALLY COHEN. 25 minutes f.s. Close in one. Rough kitchen and olio. The best act they have ever given us, and a riot of laughter from start to finish. Closed big with the punk song and dance in one. APOLLO TRIO. 8 minutes f.s. Special plush cyclorama. One of the best balancing acts ever brought over from the other side, presenting Grecian poses in bronze. Made a great close for a splendid show. CUTS. SULLY and HUSSEY - "Sadie from San Francisco" song and gag about "saving girl for to-morrow night."
