Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of September 2nd, 1912. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. LEW HOFFMAN Comedy juggler, somewhat on the stereotyped style of acts of this nature, but has a few new twists and did very well in this spot. 12 Min. in One. DARRELL & CONWAY Good novelty comedy act that has been described from other cities. Some good comedy, nice changes of costume; act well presented and could easily hold a more important spot. 15 Min. Open F.S., bare stage, close with their own draperies in One. THE 3 EMERSONS Comedy acrobatic act introducing tramplin, head and hand balancing and a little comedy; comedy doesn't amount to a great deal, but the various tricks are well presented, many of them new; all in all it may be classed as quite a good act. 10 Min. F. S. Carry their own drop. BENN LINN A fat comedian with a number of good songs which he renders well; has a good personality and got over in first rate style. 10 Min. in One. Mme. SIMONE de BYRL Posing picture act, to my mind the best in its class, altho received rather quiet by the holiday crowd. I think it is an act that will please and attract attention from the more intelligent of our patrons and probably draw a little business. 14 Min. F. S. WARD & CULLEN Man and woman, comedy singing act, conventional type, rather quiet, hardly as strong an act as I would like to have had, but gets by all right. 14 Min. in One. THE MEISTERSINGERS All that has been said of this splendid organization hasn't any more than done them justice. They sing splendidly and today every number was strongly applauded with several curtain calls at the finish. Unquestionably the best singing act ever in vaudeville. 30 Min. F. S. THE CREIGHTON BROS. Two rubes, somewhat similar to the old Crane Bros. in some respects better to my mind; they held the spot with thorough satisfaction and closed to strong applause. 12 Min. in One. DEL FRANCO'S BABOONS & DOGS This is a very good act, somewhat different than other animal acts. At the beginning the monkeys do mostly acrobatic work interspersed with comedy, then they introduce a monkey funeral with the dog doctor, dog minister, two monkey soldiers carrying stretcher and introduce quite a lot of fun. The act went splendidly today and is a good feature for the children and also for the older folks. 15 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES Pathe Weekly, O. K.
