R. S. Robbins WASHINGTON SHOW November 17, 1913. WALLACE GALVIN: 15 min. in one. This is a very artistic and finished sleight of hand act. He held the audience every minute, and received a good hand at finish. THE GRAY TRIO: 15 min. Open in two. close in one. A fairly good singing act. Classical and popular songs. The younger woman sang a selection from "Lucia" very well. Other members only fairly good. Act went fairly well SMITH, COOK & BRANDON: 23 min. Open in one close in two. Two men, tramp make-up, and a girl. The latter being a very good toe dancer. The act has lots of ginger and good comedy. Perhaps a little old, but a scream from start to finish. Big applause at finish. MARY ELIZABETH: 12 min. in one. Received advance applause. Refined, dainty and artistic act. Very much enjoyed and well received. Original songs and stories. Splendid hand at finish. UNA CLAYTON & CO. 30 min. F.S. Sketch "A Child Shall Lead Them" - Fairly constructed combination of humor and pathos. Miss Clayton clever and works hard. Act seemed to be enjoyed and closed with a very good hand. Intermission: JAMES, DIAMOND & BRENNAN: 15 min. in one. Lively singing and dancing act. Miss Brennan very attractive. Mr. Diamond's acrobatic dancing and grotesque comedy pleased the audience immensely/ The act got rounds of applause and the audience was loathe to let them go. FRED DUPREZ: 25 min. in one. Very good monologuist, combined with songs, and melodramatic travesty. Kept audience in continuous laughter and was the applause hit of the show. VALESKA SURATT: 23 min. F.S. "Black Crepe & Diamonds" - A musical and dramatic fantasy. Gorgeous settings and gowns. Miss Suratt makes many changes of costume, sings, dances and reads with credit. She is ably assisted by George Baldwin, author of the act, who is a very good actor, singer and dancer, and makes a fine appearance. The Dancing Higgings, man and girl, contribute a splendid feature and are the applause hit of the act. The entire set is thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and is drawing splendidly. PATHE WEEKLY: Very interesting run of pictures.
