B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of Nov. 24, 1913 Cleveland, Ohio CLAUDE [RANE? RANF?] - - Garden in 2. 10 minutes. A good wire act of the conventional type, without any special feature. (Youngstown) HARVEY & DE VORA TRIO - - Palace in 1. 15 minutes. Man, woman and juvenile. A trio with a pleasing revue of songs, patter and clever dancing. Went over strong and to good applause. (Philadelphia) FLORENTINE SISTERS - - Special Drop. Garden in 4. 4 men, 4 women, 20 minutes. All good singers. A snappy and pleasing song offering. Brightly costumed. Closed to big hand and continued applause. (Pittsburg) THOMAS F. JACKSON & CO --- Sketch "Letter from Home". C.D.F. 4 15 minutes. Two men, a pleasing sketch that caught the house and was well received. (Buffalo) CHICK SALE - - Special drop. Interior Country School. 15 minutes in 2. An act that was one of the hits of the bill. Sales' character impersonations of country people, his voice expression and general make-up a scream. (Chicago) MERCEDES - - Assisted by Mlle. Stantone. C.D.F. in 4. 30 minutes. Man and woman. Everything said of this act of mental musical telepathy is borne out by the fact itself. A baffling and wonderful thought transference demonstration. Mercedes, blindfolds his associate, Mlle. Stantone, who is seated at the piano, while he circulates through the audience and the patrons whisper in the title of a musical selection of their own liking into his ear, and the auditor himself or herself requests Mlle. Stanton to play the selection whispered to Mercedes. Instenter she first names the selection requested and then plays it. An act that is really great. (Syracuse) LILLIAN SHAW - - Palace in 1. Street in 2. 15 minutes. This favorite gets a hand from the start and carries the applause to curtain. Her songs and dialect stories better than ever. (Scranton) MIRANO BROTHERS - - Human Torpedo. - - A description of this act will be of no value to the other Managers as the act can only be played in a ten acre lot. I understand the act will play the New York Hippodrome for sixteen weeks after returning from Cuba. There is no other theatre in the United States that it can play. A reproduction of the Eiffel tower is built of steel frame work and I should judge it is fifty feet high. A cross-bar set on a pivot is balanced from the top of the tower and this cross-bar, I should judge to be seventy feet long. At one end of the cross-bar one of the acrobats performs trapeze and other acrobatic stunts, while the fellow at the other end of the bar sits in a prop airship with a propeller attached. The propeller is run by a small motor. which makes the cross piece revolve in a circle. Quite a sensational affair. If [Risham? Bisham?] had had something like this last week, I believe he would stand a much better chance of being worth the salary he is getting in vaudeville. However, he was not up in the air, but the rest of us were. (New York) PATHE'S WEEKLY
