REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK JAN. 5, 1914..W.W. PROSSER. MONTAMBO & WELLS: Two men, comedy acrobats. Very good offering throughout. Started the show off in fine shape and finished strong. Garden in 4, 9 minutes. (Detroit) KRAMER & MORTON: Two young men in an original blackface singing, dancing and talking number. A very clever pair with an abundance of meritorious material. Made a distinct and unqualified hit. Went big throughout and finished strong. Street in 1, 20 min. (Grand Rapids) REDFORD & WINCHESTER: Well-known juggling act. Thoroughly acceptable and did well all the way through. Thorough interest, liberal laughter and scattered applause. Finished strong. Special in 4, 19 min. (St. Louis) GREY TRIO: One man, two women, classy singing act which did very well. They were favorably received almost throughout, but fell down to some extent with their finishing song. This they will remedy by putting in another song for the night show. Open in 1, C.D.F. close in 1. 14 minutes. (Open) TOM MAHONEY: "Irish songs and stories". Reminds one of Walter Kelly, but of course not as clever a man. He was moderately well received but did not go big at anytime. Not a failure, however. Finished fairly strong. Olio in 1. 14 minutes. (Indianapolis) McConnell & Simpson: In "The Right Girl". A great comedy hit. Plenty of action, and something doing every minute. Screams of laughter and an excellent finish with several curtains. Dark Fancy in 3, 29 minutes. (Cleveland) HOWARD & RATLIFF and DOROTHY HAYDEN: Two men, one woman. A combination of songs, dances, talk and eccentric comedy. In fact, a hodge-podge of almost everything. Considering the laughing hit ahead of them, this act was a comedy riot. They went about as well as anyone could hope to see. Mighty strong finish. Special in 1, 17 minutes. (Cincinnati) THE HASSMANS: European Equilibrists. Man and boy. They work on the order of Willie Pantzer style. This is a very good act. Quite a number of tricks were rewarded with generous applause. did fine as a closer. Palace in 4, 7 minutes. (Open) PATHE WEEKLY: O.K.
