B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE, CINCINNATI, O. Week of Jan. 4th, 1914. John F. Royal. SUTTON, MCINTYRE AND SUTTON 14 min. F.S. Special. Two men and a woman in comedy acrobatic and talking act. Started off a little slow, but closed well. This act has some good material, and proved a good opening for this show. INDIANAPOLIS. BARNEY GILMORE 15 min. in One. Street Olio, also using picture sheet. Mr. Gilmore was changed to #4 position, where he did not get over. His Irish humor is not cherished much by the Germans here. His material is old and the only thing that gets him by is his reputation. There is positively nothing new or original to the act, and this is the only spot on the bill for him. Fair closing. OTTAWA. EDMUND HAYES AND COMPANY 21 min. F.S. C.D.F. Two men and a woman in a riot of comedy. This act was seen here late last season. Went bigger than ever on this visit. A Scream from beginning to end. Very strong finish. INDIANAPOLIS. REISNER AND GOBES 17 min. in One. Str. drop. Unable to use their own drop because of lack of fire proofing. They went very strong, but following big laughing act like Hayes, had to work very hard, and did not go quite as well as on their previous visit. Will probably improve during the week. Good finish. INDIANAPOLIS. EDWARD ABELES AND COMPANY 20 min. F.S. C.D.F. Man and woman in well known act "He Tried To Be Nice". Mr. Abeles had them laughing all the way and repeated his success of two years ago with this act. Very strong finish. DETROIT. MARIE SHAW? 17 min. in Two. Fancy Int. Close in One. Most wonderful voice ever heard in vaudeville. Sings two operatic numbers and two semi-classical selections. As there is a great deal of talk as to who this girl is, she will probably do some business. The applause hit of the bill. Every body in town in talking about her, and the newspapers have given her considerable publicity. The finish was an ovation. HALE AND PATTERSON 7 min. F.S. Pal. Man and woman "Tango" dancers. Best "Tango" act seen in this city this season, and as the people have the craze, they went over very big. The act is short, but it is pretty, graceful and very speedy. The climax of the dancing is a thriller. Big closing. LOUISVILLE. LADDIE CLIFF 13 min. in One. Olio. England's well known boy comedian in his typical English songs and dances. His trunk did not arrive for either of the Sunday shows, and he went on in his street clothes, but did not suffer a particle. He was just as big a hit as if he had his costume. All his numbers went big, and he closed very strong after following such a big show. NEW YORK. APDALE'S ZOOLOGICAL ACT 9 min. F.S. Land. this is one of the best animal acts we played here this season, and we have played too many of them. Held them in to the finish and closed strong. INDIANAPOLIS. LOCAL MOTION PICTURES Very interesting.
