114 Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of Feb. 2, 1914. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The bill is a fairly good one this week; two or three of the acts are rather disappointing, but there is nothing that may be called bad. MONTAGUE'S BIRDS A rather interesting act with some unusual tricks. Fared very nicely and thoroughly O.K. for the money; made a good opening. 11 Min. F. S. PEALSON & GOLDIE Somehow or another these fellows didn't get over very well. I think, myself, the comedian is rather unfunny. They are certainly paid enough, even as salaries go. 17 Min. in One. MARVEL & DELITE A young fellow and girl in a little skit arranged to introduce some character dancing with changes of costume by the young man. He is a particularly good dancer; the girl doesn't amount to much and the act is presented in rather a crude way; it seems to be somewhat amateurish. In proper hands it could be made a very good act; as it is I could only call it fair. 14 Min. F. S. "THE TELEPHONE TANGLE" A very good novelty; well presented; an act that will create talk and will draw business. Aside from it pleasing the general public there is no doubt that every person connected with the telephone business will come in to see it before the week is out. 17 Min. F. S. Victor Emma MOORE & LITTLEFIELD The same big riot that they always are. 27 Min. Open bare stage, following any act and close about 4 Min. in One. VIOLINSKY After the many excellent violinists we have had here this season, this man's work on that instrument is somewhat of a fizzle. His piano playing is nothing unusual the only real success he made was of a little comedy of a pianist in a picture show and another pianist at four o'clock A. M. in a cafe. 11 Min. in One. IDEAL Diver and swimmer. To my mind Ideal has as good an act as any of those in her line; in addition she lends herself more to advertising than any of the others, aside from Miss Kellerman, because she is so well-known through the medium of the moving pictures, having been seen in a picture that has attained a great deal of notice called "The Diver." There was a great deal of newspaper space given to this picture at the time it was taken, because Ideal nearly lost her life in Niagara Rapids and which is remembered by the general public with the consensus that the people were eager to see her. In addition to this, she has some good newspaper stuff, which the newspapers here were willing to take and one of the department stores are showing in their window the dress, which is almost in shreds, in which she made the sensational swim of Niagara Rapids, so altogether she is much to command with where an act of this kind is desired. I consider her a good card. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
