141 B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of Feb. 16, 1914 Cleveland, Ohio YANKEE & DIXIE - - C.D.F. in 3. 10 minutes. Two exceptionally intelligent Fox terrier dogs, in a classy trick and balancing act. New and original and pleased immensely. (Open) WATSON & SANTOS - - Man and woman. Palace in 1. 12 minutes. An act full of catchy songs, a few good dances on the part of the men and some splendid singing by Miss Santos. Both caught the house and closed to big applause. (Toledo) FIVE MUSICAL GORMANS - - 3 women. 2 men. (including a little tot of a boy) Open Garden in 2. Close Palace in 1. 15 minutes. One of the best and snappiest musical runs seen here in a long time. (Toledo) "RUBE" DICKINSON - - Palace in 1. 12 minutes. This man's work improves with age, and is better than ever. He is about the best and funniest of "rube" characters. Pleased. (Indianapolis) VALERIE BERGERE & CO - - 2 men. 3 women. Special velour curtain in 2. Change to C. D. F. in 3. Special 18 minutes. This is perhaps one of Miss Bergere's best little sketches and carries her along to riotous applause. She is as good, if not better than ever (Cincinnati) ANNA HELD - - Palace in 1. 17 minutes. I agree with the Cincinnati report. Parts of the pictures are not clear. Some of her songs especially the one entitled "Three Bells" was probably written for either Eugene Cowles or McDonald of the Bostonians. If you can imagine a butterfly fluttering around the belfry as the chimes of old Trinity are pealing out the deep heavy notes, you can realize what chance a voice like Anna Held's has in such an atmosphere. However, her name drew the people. They saw enough of her to be satisfied. They did not knock the act and the business was almost capacity both afternoon and evening. Her name would draw money even if she did a wire act (New York) WILSON BROTHERS - - Palace in 1. 15 minutes. These two genuine dialect comedians scored a hit and offer some new material. Good act (Johnstown) HUBERT DYER & PETER ALVIN - - Acrobats. Garden in 4. 10 minutes. Very good closing act. (Canton) PATHE'S WEEKLY
