H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW. MARCH 9, 1914. THE GLOCKERS. 11 min. Makes a very good opener, both man and woman making a fine appearance and their work being varied and interesting. Included some comedy. Glocker's juggling of pails and tubs of water is very remarkable and got the act a big closing hand. NEVINS & ERWOOD. 15 min. Good blackface act that gets a good deal of laughter for the comedy and is particularly strong in the eccentric dancing. Held this spot very well. RAYNO'S DOGS. 7 min. This well known act made its usual hit. Laughter and applause throughout and a fine finish. WILSON BROS. 16 min. Good line of German comedy put over in a very amusing manner and duplicating the success which they enjoyed when here before. Some new material but for the most part their former act which held this spot O. K. Finished to good applause. HOWARD & McCANE. 27 min. Open Full Stage, close in one. Offer a lot of new and clever songs by Mr. Howard and a lot of very funny patter which pleased the audience very much judging by the attention and the applause. Miss McCane made six changes of costume, all of them mighty stunning. Their work in one consisted of Howard's songs, the titles of which were called out from the audience by request. Closed very strong. HICKEY BROS. 11 min. Two men work straight, one of them clown comedy. The eccentric dancing and acrobatic work are very good, but it is the comedy of the clown that gets the audience very strong. Audience kept amused throughout and closed strong. 'THE GREEN BEETLE." 30 min. A rather gruesome and at the same time consistent and thoroughly artistic picture of Chinatown life, admirably presented by Mr. Casavant, Miss Voe and their support. Every oriental detail carried out with fine effect and the audience held in deepest interest by the thread of the story. Fills all requirements of a headline act. ELINORE & WILLIAMS. 19 min. Made their usual hit here with some of their old material and much that was new. Miss Elinore is a great favorite and everything that she does gets the big hand of applause. Closed very strong. ICELANDIC TROUPE. 7 min. One ripping novelty in the athletic line, the work being fast, wonderfully expert and absolutely original in method. Held the audience breathless and the whirlwind finish got them a big hand. A splendid closer. KINETOGRAPH. A very satisfactory series from the standpoint of variety. GENERAL REMARKS. This is a thoroughly satisfactory show according to the public comment and will play off with still better effect by putting the Icelandic Troupe up, the Hickey Brothers down ahead of Elinore & Williams and closing with Rayno's Dogs. CUTS HOWARD & McCANE: Changing of definition of word "optimist," eliminating word "damn;" also expression "How the devil" and reference to "forefathers." WILSON BROS. Speaking to people in audience.
