REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW, WEEK MARCH 9, 1914. W.W. Prosser. ROLANDOW BROTHERS: Pair fine hand balancers. Excellent work, well presented. Everything put over in very good style. Neat, clean, clever and well worth while. Attention throughout and a strong finish. Special in 2, 6 min. (Pittsburgh) JOHN T. MURRAY: An elongated fellow in songs, talk and dances. Eccentric in style. Quite a clever chap, but not overly well received. Got by in a general way, though nothing big. Finished moderately strong. Street in 1, 12 minutes. (Akron and Youngstown) HAYDN, BURTON & HAYDN: Two men, one woman in an offering consisting of songs, dances and work on the piano and concertina. A good, lively number which proved very acceptable. Held attention throughout and finished strong. Conservatory in 1 1/2, 17 minutes. (Lexington) ALLEN DINEHART & ANN HERITAGE: In a comedy playlet, "Just Half Way". A very good story, capably presented. Quite a bit of comedy with an under-current of seriousness and a very good moral. Classy in every way and thoroughly entertaining. Held attention throughout and finished strong. Fancy in 3, 23 minutes. (New York) JOSEPHINE DUNFEE: Good looking and well dressed vocalist who delivered several high class numbers, successfully. Her voice is not as pleasing as it might be, but she makes up in technique. All in all, she made good. Applause after each number, and several bows at the finish. Olio in 1, 15 minutes. (Open) M'LLE DAZIE: In "Pantaloon" by Sir James Matthew Barrie. A good story which provides the desired opportunity for introducing Dazie's dancing. It is not strictly pantomime, there being enough talk to make the story thoroughly clear. A very classy act, faultlessly presented. Strong personal success for M'lle Dazie who has capable support in her assistants. The act got hold of and held them throughout. Undivided attention from beginning to end. Finished very strong, with several bows. Special 4, 28 minutes. (New York) MELVILLE & HIGGINS: In "Putting On Airs". This well known couple have almost entirely new material, with a sprinkling of just the best of the old. Proved a great laughing success, going very big throughout and finishing strong. Olio in 1, 22 minutes. (Cincinnati) WANDA: "The Seal With The Human Brain". Well trained animal which got along alright, showing the tricks usually done by a seal. Went very well and finished moderately strong. Garden in 4, 10 minutes. (Open) MOTION PICTURE: Edison Comedy, O.K.
