180 REPORT OF ACTS PLAYING THE SCENIC TEMPLE, PAWTUCKET, R.I., MARCH 16-17-18 Thiessen's Pets. Man and woman, and numerous dogs. Special drop in full stage, 14 minutes. The stunts are the usual turning flips, balancing, etc. Went good. Myrtle and Daisy. Two girls. 12 minutes in one. Singing dancing, piano-playing and changes. Went good. Catherine Purnell and Co. Three men, and two women. A comedy sketch, lasting 16 minutes in C.D.F. set in full stage, entitled "The Double Deception." Went good. Oxford Quartette. Four men. 14 minutes in one. Singing, ensemble and solos, comedy, ending with "a complete minstrel first part in 2 minutes." Took 6 bows, and did an encore. HIT. THE VERNON CASTLE PICTURES are also played here the first three days of this week, showing The Castle walk, the Tango, the Hesitation Waltz, the Maxixe Brazilienne, and the OneStep, and are well liked. Grace Fisher. Single woman. 10 minutes in one. Sings four songs, in a good voice, with a change for each. Went fair. DeWitt, Burns and Torrence. Two men and a woman. 14 minutes in full stage, special act. A novel offering, introducing dancing, comedy, and equilibrists at the top of a pole. Billed "The Awakening of Toys" as the people are dressed as toys, and "come to life" to do the above-mentioned stunts. Went very good.
