[?]. S. Robbins WASHINGTON SHOW March 23, 1914 MONTAGUE'S COCKATOOS 10 min. F.S. special act. Beautiful white birds, trained, and with the use of special props make an unusual and entertaining act. Has some comedy good for laughs, and a very good hand at finish. HANDERS & MILLISS 8 min. in one. Two young men who do some neat dancing mixed with piano playing and attempt some comedy which is bad. Goes only fairly well ALLAN DINEHART & Ann Heritage 22 min. F.S. - "Just Half Way" by Una Clayton. An insipid and colorless sketch, getting a couple of undeserved laughs and very little applause. ED. VINTON & "BUSTER" 20 Min. in one. A good showman and a remarkably intelligent fox terrier. The little dog imitates his master in different stunts, understands what he says and obeys promptly his commands. The act is interspersed with good comedy, proceeds with unusual dispatch for an act of this kind. Pleases the audience immensely and gets a big hand at finish. HARRY TIGHE & COLLEGIANS "Taking Things Easy" 40 min. F.S. Special set. Six men and three women in a funny sketch of college life. Tigh a fairly good comedian with a good singing voice, does the bulk of the work and is successful with the splendid opportunities the sketch offers. The Tango as danced by Mr. Carleton & Miss Stewart in this act, is the applause hit of the show. The mixed quartette is also a pleasing feature. The act gets continuous laughs and a big hand at finish. INTERMISSION HOEY & LEE 16 min. in one. Two men hebrew character and dialect comedians in funny talk and parodies. Go very well. ADELE RITCHIE 20 min. F.S. Beautiful woman, beautifully gowned. Sings four songs in splendid voice and with much vim. During her last number she throws tin whistles to the audience who have a great time with them in this song and help Miss Ritchie to score a near hit. THE FOUR HARVEYS 9 min. F.S. 2 men and 2 women, also another woman assistant who is a very attractive feature of the act. These four wire performers utilize showmanship with their difficult feats to make a corking good act. Tango on the wire by the two women a popular feature. The act gets applause after each stunt and a big hand at finish. PATHE WEEKLY Splendid pictures. GENERAL REMARKS - A good show, if a little under our usual standard.
