H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW JULY 12, 1915. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. Pictures up to the average. VALENTINE & BELL. 10 min. Man and woman in comedy and trick bicycle and unicycle riding. They use a bit of chatter and introduce their tricks in a novel way. Satisfactory opener. CARBREY BROS. 9 min. These two boys are a well known dancing team and are still doing about the same routine as they have for several seasons, finishing with a novelty number in which they dance in a combination suit. Both are clever steppers and their dancing was well liked. EARD & FITZGERALD. 18 min. Man and woman in character of Dutch comedian and French soubrette. Their act consists of burlesque bits of singing and comedy talk. Got a fair amount of laughter. They finished to a good hand. FOUR ANTWERP GIRLS. 16 min. The Misses St. Claire. This is a high-class musical act. The girls play violin, harp, cello and piano and introduce two vocal numbers. Their music is pleasing and well played. The girls are attractive looking and dress nicely, and being Belgian attract more than ordinary interest. Scored solidly. LADDIE CLIFF. 11 min. This clever young English comedian is just as big a favorite here as ever. He sang four numbers and finished with his eccentric dancing. Each song was well liked and he closed to a strong hand of applause. MASON & KEELER. 28 min. Their new sketch, "Married," is undoubtedly one of the best comedy playlets introduced in vaudeville in a long time. It is a well written story of an entirely different theme than usual, with plenty of good comedy lines, lots of action and a surprise finish. Three characters are employed, the third being a burglar. It scored from start to finish and closed with a big laugh and solid applause. BELLE BAKER. 18 min. Sang five songs and at the finish the audience applauded continuously for several minutes. Three of her songs were new, of the character sort, and sung with great effect. She was the applause hit of the show and was forced to take several bows before she left the stage. WARD, BELL & WARD. 9 min. Three men in a comedy acrobatic turn, two working straight, one in comedy makeup. Fair routine of acrobatics on floor and table. A woman is used in the act introducing some clever dancing and working in the finishing acrobatic tricks. Act did well as the closing number. "TWENTIETH CENTURY COURTSHIP." Picture repeated from last week with a few slight changes of local views. GENERAL REMARKS. Well balanced bill that furnished an excellent show for warm weather season. Two or three of the acts scored unusually well and held up the average of the show to a satisfactory mark.
