REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of JULY 12th - 1915. (Linwood Curtis) PATHE NEWS 15 minutes in one. Picture sheet. Fairly interesting series of news pictures. THE LELANDS 9 minutes f.s. Special Draperies. Lightning oil painters. A good opener. ED MORTON 14 minutes in one. Olio Drop. All the songs Morton is singing this season are new to Boston, with one exception, and he went very well indeed in this position. GREAT HORELIK GYPSY TROUPE 11 minutes f.s. Special Set. Three girls and seven men in gypsy pastimes and Russian dancing. Some of the work is really out of the ordinary, and the act scored quite a hit. JACK ANTHONY and JOE RATLIFF 13 minutes in one. Street. The College Man and the Wop. Comedy talking act with one song and a little dancing. Got quite a number of laughs. JULIE RING and CO in "TWICE A WEEK" 18 minutes f.s. Special Set. This odd little sketch is full of bright lines and novel situations. It went over in great shape. BELLE BLANCHE 13 minutes in one and two. O.P. Drapery and Palace Drop. The best act Miss Blanche has ever given us. The impersonation of the actors at the base ball game was the best liked. A hit. BEN WELCH 20 minutes in one. Street. Welch is a tremendous favorite in Boston. Got a reception, and scored the hit of the show. Had them laughing every minute, and closed strong. "THE MEISTERSINGERS AT THE FLAG STATION" 25 minutes f.s. Special Set. Second week, with three new numbers, including new solos and new soloists. Held the audience in to the finish and closed big. CUTS: Ed Morton - "nance" business. Anthony & Ratliff - gag about "September morn" and "throwing away the book after marriage" Ben Welch - business of sticking dope in arm.
