H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW JULY 19, 1915. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. Fair selection of summer feature pictures. BRADLEY & NORRIS. 13 min. "In Loveland." Young man and woman in a variety novelty including songs, dances and a bit of trick bicycle riding. They work in a special set and make several changes of costume. A very pretty opener. GLEN ELLISON. 17 min. Scotch singer. Sings four songs opening with a comedy number and closing with one of Harry Lauder's well known ballads. A pleasing voice and was fairly well liked. WALTER V. MILTON & CO. 14 min. In a one-act farce, "Don't Walk in Your Sleep." Two men and a woman in a comedy playlet with good lines and situations. Kept the laughs going in good shape and finished to a solid hand of applause. First rate comedy number. MARY MELVILLE. 13 min. This is Mae Melville, formerly of Melville & Higgins. Sings a couple of comedy songs but her act consists mainly of comedy talk which was good for laughs. She works in the same character that she used with Higgins and gets her stuff over with good effect. Was well liked and finished strong. OLD HOMESTEAD DOUBLE QUARTETTE. 14 min. Eight male voices formerly featured in Donman Thompson's "Old Homestead." Their numbers are all straight ballads and very well sung, the voices being of good quality and harmonizing perfectly. Act very well liked. BOWERS, WALTERS & CROCKER. 10 min. "The Three Rubes." Act unchanged and scored as big as ever with their rough comedy and acrobatics. A big laugh. "BALLET DIVERTISSEMENT." 20 min. A very pretty dancing ensemble with Miss Swan Wood, Florence Burns and Jessie Roggo as soloists and supported by eight dainty dancers in a series of classic and character numbers. Their program consists of seven different numbers, all beautifully executed and forming a beautiful stage picture. Act was very well liked and warmly applauded. BELLE BLANCHE. 13 min. Singing a series of character and high-class songs of her familiar kind, all splendidly sung and getting splendid results. Her new bit, impersonating stage stars at a ball game, received liberal recognition and her act went over as big as ever. BALZER SISTERS. 8 min. A very pretty aerial novelty. Two girls performing a series of tricks while hanging by the teeth and being whirled through the air. They make their act a bit different by playing on musical instruments while in the air. GENERAL REMARKS. First rate summer show with plenty of comedy and novelty, good singing and music to lighten it up. The audience showed liberal appreciation on a very warm afternoon.
