BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW MONDAY AUGUST 16, 1915. DUNN SISTERS: SINGING AND DANCING 10 MINUTES (1) Weak act, the singing being of a most ordinary discription, and the dancing is little better. Comedy fails utterly. LABELLE MARIE: VARIETY ARTISTE, 10 MINUTES OPEN FULL, CLOSE ONE. Manifests much versatility; sings quite well, and does an imitation bit in quite a clever manner. Plays the cornet and performs on the slack wire, and the act goes fairly well. MIDNIGHT ROLLICKERS: CABARET ACT, 14 MINUTES FULL STAGE SPECIAL SET. 9 PEOPLE. Some of the dances are very clever, and well-received. Instrumental selections are not of particularly great merit. The scenic and lighting effects are extremely attractive, and make a pretty picture. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW THURSDAY AUG. 19, 1915. THE GRAPHOPHONE GIRL: 15 MINUTES (1) As a bit of novelty solely, it might be termed just a fair act. The phonograph has been such a useful member in countless thousands of homes for so long past, that it rather loses prestige as a means of entertainment on the professional stage. Our audience was quite coldly indifferent. RONAIR & WARD: SONGS AND TALK, 15 MINUTES (1) SPECIAL DROP. LADY AN MAN. Good act, the material used being refreshingly new and original, and productive of keen enjoyment. Act was well-received. FRED THOMAS & CO: COMEDY SKETCH, 18 MINUTES C. D. F. ONE LADY. TWO MEN Much of the comedy is sheer foolishness, but it is very successful as a laugh-getter, the audience being convulsed with merriment from start to finish. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager.
