REPORT on PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK of SEPTEMBER 20, 1915. CHARLES LOVENBERG, Manager. We have this week a very good bill, although it contains a little more music thant I would like to have. I was not aware that Craig Campbell was doing a high-class singing act, I supposed he was singing popular songs something after the style of Ryan & Tierney. However, he made a big hit; as did every act on the bill with two exceptions Everest's Monkeys This is an act after the style of "Rochez Monkey Music Hall, although not nearly as good. Put originally to close the show, but was obliged to move them up. 10 Mins. F.S. Mme. Lili Petschnikoff. European Violinist. With the exception of Quiroga, probably the best violinist every in vaudeville. Mme. Petschnikoff is making her first appearance in the Varieties and scored strongly. Is too good for this position on the bill, but it was necessary to place her there for obvious reasons. 13 Mins. In One. Harry Fern & Co in The Veterans. Very good comedy sketch with a little touch of seriousness. 20 Min. F.S. Craig Campbell. Tenor. Mr. Campbell sings songs from Boheme, as well as some well known ballads, and made a most pronounced hit. 20 Mins. In One. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wilde Shadowgraphists. The best act of the kind we ever had. 12 Mins. F.S. Mary Melville At the opening performance I had Miss Melville on number two. She did not go very well, and I thought the position might have something to do with it. The reconstruction of the bill brought her into this position with no better results. She has a lot of bright patter, but somehow it does not reach. 11 Mins. In One. Harry Girard & Co. A very pretentious act presented by several men and one woman. Good act, good singing, elaborate scenery. A very good feature that won unstinted praise and applause. 32 Mins. F.S. Al. Lydell & Co. Mr. Lydell gives us an impersonation similar to that of Foster Ball, and about as good. Assisted by young man and young woman. The act was the comedy hit of the bill. 20 Mins. In one. The Balzer Sisters. Human Butterflies. Very good act. 9 Mins. F.S. Motion Pictures. O. K.
