H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW SEPT. 20, 1915. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. 12 min. Fair average of pictures. SORETTY & ANTOINETTE. 9 min. Man and woman in a comedy acrobatic act, featuring one big trick, a backward drop from a row of tables. An acceptable opener. WRIGHT & DIETRICH. 18 min. Man and woman in a classy singing act. This is their first appearance in some time and they have some new songs which scored. The act was very well liked. CHAS. MACK & CO. 16 min. In an Irish comedy playlet called "A Friendly Call." Mr. Mack was formerly of Callahan & Mack and his present vehicle is a new offering. He does a bagpipe specialty and there is a bit of dancing by the girl which made a hit. Act won a fair amount of applause. DOYLE & DIXON. 21 min. These two boys are still in a class by themselves as dancers and their comedy talk adds considerably to making their act a hit. They scored strongly as ever, finishing to a big hand of applause. GERTRUDE HOFFMANN in "Sumurun." 62 min. This is undoubtedly the most magnificent production and the most pretentious offering vaudeville has ever had. Although a condensed version, Max Reinhardt's wordless playlet is given in almost complete detail, wonderfully staged and splendid acted by Miss Hoffmann and her big company. The act ran for more than an hour and held the strictest attention throughout and although not a great applause-winner, is an unmistakable triumph as a vaudeville feature. SOPHIE TUCKER. 19 min. With an entire list of new songs, she put over a riot of a hit, singing half a dozen songs and scoring solidly with every one. She sang until she was tired and finished to a big round of applause. CECILE TRIO. 10 min. Two men and a woman in a mixture of comedy, dancing and acrobatics. Do some clever balancing and tumbling tricks and were well liked. Some lively comedy give them a big finish. GENERAL REMARKS. A very good variety bill surrounding Gertrude Hoffmann in "Sumurun" furnished an excellent show.
