REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of SEPTEMBER 27th 1915. (R. G. Larsen.) PATHE NEWS 16 minutes in one. Picture Sheet. One of the best of the series, with some splendid pictures of the New York subway accident and a very amusing cartoon of Henry Ford and his "jitney submarine." ADONIS and THE ACT BEAUTIFUL 9 minutes f.s. Palace Set. This contortionist and his little dog scored their usual big hit. CARL McCULLOUGH 14 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Mr McCullough started off a bit slow with his songs, but closed to a good hand with the department store specialty and his imitations of Warfield and Eddie Foy. CHARLES CARTWELL and LAURA HARRIS 16 minutes f.s. Palace. (Close in one. Olio Drop) Have some new songs and dances, and going as well as on previous visits. WILMER WALTER and CO in "The Late Van Camp" 15 minutes f.s. Dark tapestry. This act played the ten-cent house across the street about a year ago. While it deals with a rather gruesome subject: the playing dead of a husband in order to test the fidelity of his wife: it got quite a number of laughs and closed well. FRANCIS DOOLEY and CORINNE SALES 26 minutes in one. Special Drop. This team has not been seen here for several years. They scored the hit of the show. Closed very strong. GERTRUDE HOFFMANN and CO in "SUMURUN" 61 minutes f.s. Eight special sets. Sixty-six people. Five extra musicians. The biggest thing Miss Hoffmann has ever done, and by far the finest. The action is fast, the waits between the scenes are very short, and the scenery, costumes and acting fully up to the standard of the original German production. Held the interest, and closed strong. CUTS: Wilmer Walter - "My God" and business of kicking valet.
