H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA OCT. 25, 1915. PICTURES. 11 min. Ordinary set of pictures. THOSE FRENCH GIRLS. (The Amoras Sisters) 14 min. These girls doing their old act opened the show in great shape with their mixture of songs, dances and acrobatics. Finished to a good hand. BRONTE & ALDWELL. 14 min. "A Boardwalk Flirtation." A very good singing and talking act that went unusually well in number two spot and could have gone in a better position. Singing above the average and material well handled. Finished to a good hand. THE BAGGESENS. 13 min. This is the first American tour of this act in about five years. It is just as big a laugh-winner as ever with a comedy juggling novelty that is a scream from start to finish. WATSON SISTERS. 20 min. This is a new sister act in vaudeville with a name. They sang five numbers, all but one of them comedy. Each number was a hit. There was enough applause at the finish to bring them back for a little speech of thanks. "WOMAN PROPOSES." 25 min. This is Paul Armstrong's one-act satire and its second tour around the circuit with a new cast. It is a problem play on the eternal feminine question and did very well in the middle of the bill but without scoring anything big. STONE & HAYES. 18 min. in One. "Green Goods." A comedy talking act. Held the laughs going very well all through the early portion but slowed up when they did a well-worn money-changing comedy bit that has been overworked. The best laughing material is used in the first half of the act and they finished to a very light hand. LOUISE GUNNING. 12 min. It has been several years since this lady has been heard in vaudeville, but she still has a name as a musical comedy star and her singing of Scotch songs which she formerly used in vaudeville was well received. She sang several of these in Scotch costume. Finished to a fair amount of applause. MILT COLLINS. 13 min. "Speaker of the House." This fellow has a "Cliff Gordon" monologue with a lot of new material on topics of the times. He delivers it with excellent results. Got plenty of laughs and finished to liberal applause, scoring a hit in the next-to-closing position. JAMES DUTTON & CO. 9 min. F.S. Man and two women with a ring master in one of the prettiest equestrian acts we have ever seen. Two white horses are used for the riding and they draw a white wagon all through the act. There is also a dog which adds to the beauty and everything being snow-white against a black background makes a high-class stage picture. In the closing position, they scored strongly. GENERAL REMARKS: This is a bill with plenty of good material and several good sized hits scattered through it. The following change in the bill after the first performance brought even better results in the evening:- A Orchestra B Pictures C Amoras Sisters D Bronte & Aldwell E The Baggesens F Stone & Hayes G Louise Gunning H Milt Collins I Woman Proposes J Watson Sisters K The Duttons L Exit March CUTS: WATSON SISTERS:- "Blushing" bit; "WOMAN PROPOSES: elimination of word "God;" MILT COLLINS: use of the word "hell."
