H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW DEC. 13, 1915. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. 13 min. Very interesting pictures. HERAS & PRESTON. 6 min. Two men in a comedy acrobatic turn. Have a good routine and made an acceptable opener. PARILLO & FRABITO. 10 min. Two men dressed as Italian street singers. One plays the accordion while the other sings comedy songs and a ballad. Did very nicely, finishing to a strong hand. KATHLEEN CLIFFORD. 18 min. "America's Favorite Boy." Sang five songs, three in dainty feminine attire and two in her famous "chappie" clothes. All but one of the songs were new and she did well with each number, finishing to a liberal hand. FLORENCE ROBERTS & CO. 25 min. "The Woman Intervenes." This is a semi-dramatic sketch by J. Hartley Manners and splendidly played by the principal and her support. there are several tense moments but they are lightened up by some light comedy lines which are handled with good results. The sketch made an emphatic hit. HARRY GILFOIL. 17 min. The old favorite of the Hoyt comedy days in his famous character of "Baron Sands" singing an old song and using a series of imitations. He scored a solid hit. CHIP & MARBLE. 28 min. Supported by a company of four, they are presenting a musical fantasy called "The Clock Shop." It is a quaint little love story set in the scene of an old clock shop, the characters impersonating different kinds of clocks. Songs and dances are interpolated and form a very pleasing and out-of-the-ordinary sketch which finished to a great hand of applause. MAGGIE CLINE. 16 min. Sang four songs including her famous "Throw 'Em Down McCloskey" and finished with a burlesque tango with one of the stage hands. Each of her numbers was well received and there was a liberal hand of applause at the finish. AVON COMEDY FOUR. 19 min. These boys repeated the big riot hit that they have always been in this house, keeping the audience in a roar of laughter and getting plenty of applause at the finish. DE WITT, BURNS & TORRENCE. 13 min. "The Awakening of Toys." Made a very good closing number for this show with their comedy acrobatic and perch feats. Unchanged from former visits. GENERAL REMARKS. A very good variety show, well balanced and pleasing from start to finish, with plenty of ante-holiday atmosphere to it.
