REPORT on KEITH'S BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of JANUARY 10 1916 (R. G. Larsen) HEARST-VITAGRAPH NEWS PICTORIAL 15 minutes. Good series of news events in pictures. TOGAN and GENEVA 9 minutes f.s. Garden. Man and woman in a splendid tight wire act, with dancing on the wire and a somersault by the man that is a marvel. A great act of its kind. PARILLO and FRANITO 10 minutes in one. Street Drop. Street singers and musicians. Went well. HARRY TATE'S "MOTORING" 21 minutes in two. Landscape drop. Wellknown English travesty act on automobiling, with the customary broad style of English humor. Got the laughs. KATHLEEN CLIFFORD 14 minutes f.s. Special Drop. About the same act that she gave us several years ago, with new songs. Went very well. LOLA MERRILL and FRANK OTTO "Wards of the U S A" 18 minutes f.s. Special Set. A very pretty stage setting and some kind applause lines about the American eagle are about all there is to this act. The story is one of the most insipid imaginable, and the act not at all worthy of these two good artists. SANTLEY and NORTON 18 minutes in one. Olio Drop. The best vaudeville act in the show. Singing, dancing and comedy, full of life every minute. PHYLLIS NEILSON-TERRY 24 minutes. Open in one. Olio Drop. go to two. Prison scene. Close in f.s. Dark tapestry interior. Miss Terry was a positive hit. Last night the audience broke in with applause on her second solo before she had finished it. She also gives two scenes from "Romeo and Juliet," both of which were received with close attention and a strong hand at the finish. An artistic success. AL LYDELL and CO. 21 minutes in one. Garden drop. This is the old Lydell, Rogers and Lydell act with a new feeder in place of rogers. Held this spot with credit, getting many laughs. FOUR STATUES 8 minutes f.s. Special Drop. Hand-balancing and strong man act with performers clad in white. Acceptable closer. CUTS: Kathleen Clifford - song "She took mother's advice."
