BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 20, 1916. BROWN & TAYLOR: SINGING AND TALKING SKIT, 13 MINUTES (1) Passably fair, singing some songs in voices of pretty good quality, the lady being much the more clever of the two. ARTHUR WHITELAW: MONOLOGIST, 14 MINUTES (1) A good line of comedy handled like a master makes a good impression and is well received. In a town where three fourths of the population is of French extraction one can readily perceive the difficulties that would naturally beset an Irish comedian, but in this instance there is no antipathy noticeable and he and his offering was a real success. MASON, WILBUR AND JORDAN: ACROBATS, 9 MINUTES, FULL STAGE, SPECIAL SET. Much like others of its kind, lots of their stuff was worn threadbare by the Byrnes Bros. years ago, so their comedy is very old. Their 'straight' is fair, but not alarming, and I think there were many better features here many times. [W. E. Parmenter?] Mgr. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 27, 1916. RAYMOND WILBERT: HOOP ROLLER, 10 MINUTES, FULL STAGE Here is a performer very skilfull in his specialty, in fact, quite the cleverest we have seen since Everhart himself started vaudeville with his brilliant hoop manipulation. Wilbert is very successful here, and he pleased all audiences. HAYDN, BORDEN & HADYN: 'BITS OF VAUDEVILLE' 20 MINUTES (1) 3 Men. How refreshing and gratifying it is to watch this real vaudeville aggregation! Would there were more trios equal to this one which was a riot of acclaim at all shows. Much of their material is the veriest nonsense but is of the brand that had all audiences wildly applauding for more, and they will surely be 'the boys of the hour' during their stay here. [W. E. Parmenter?] Mgr.
